Lilo's POV
Our first week of school had officially begun and ended quickly. However, as Tayten and I had come in half way through the semester, the homework pileup is bad. Tonight no cameramen were scheduled to be at the apartment, so we took this time to dive into our mound of work.
"Why are there so many dynasties!? In America we only have one and its Duck Dynasty!" Tayten complained in Chinese, while reading over the paper. She sucks at multitasking and her brain couldn't possibly speak English aloud while reading in Chinese. Thus, I prayed the boys wouldn't hear us, because that would end our little practical joke on them too quickly.
As if god was listening and playing a joke on us himself, Jun walked into the living room and paused. "Wait," he began in Chinese. Tayten shot me a worried look as she covered her mouth. "Who was talking now?" He asked in adorably bad English.
Tayten and I exchanged a look as I nodded my head. "It was a recording for our project, at school." I replied not thinking about how many plot holes there were in my lie.
He paused for a moment as if contemplating the reality of the situation. But then Jun nodded his head, and continued to the kitchen where he got a drink from the fridge, and disappeared back into his room. As he passed us again he murmured, "strange..." under his breath, but didn't stop.
"How was that believable?" I wondered in Tayten and I's common tongue. "Think about it. If we really didn't know Chinese, why would we be listening to a recording? Also why would a history recording talk about some redneck american show?"
Tayten shrugged and looked back down at her paper, "he's more stupider than me."
I frowned, "stupider isn't a word...."
Tayten looked up. "It is now."
