Tayten's POV

He still hasn't said much to me. It was awkward and the tension was thicker than a sea of syrup. Or maybe I'm just hungry... I get dramatic when I'm hungry. Drowning in a sea of syrup sounds pretty nice actually. Okay, minus the drowning part...?

"Yes." Was all he said. Then he hugged me. Minghao felt like a buff stick. Like... like Groot. I can't believe it. I threw Gunther for him! I was expecting some dramatic grab me by the waist, dip, and freaking inhale my face level kiss for that! Instead I get a yes and a hug.... I guess that's okay too.

"Okay, okay I will!" Lilo giggled as a very tired and very cold Jun didn't want her to get out of bed. I watched through the crack in the boy's door for a moment. I want that. I know it's selfish, after what I told Lilo too... but I want that.

"Morning." My heart started racing at the sound of that voice.

I turned quickly, "morning."

"I made you coffee." Minghao said in his groggy morning voice as he handed me a cup.

I smiled, "thanks." I made to take a sip but Minghao grabbed the cup quickly, pulling it away from my lips. I glared at the boy with cold eyes.

Apologetically he began, "it's still hot. You would've burned your tongue." Blowing on the drink a few times he sampled a sip. "Crap, one second." He murmured as Minghao rushed to the kitchen, trying not to wake what members were sleeping. I walked the same path as I made my way to the kitchen table where I sat down warily. "You look very nice." Minghao murmured as he dropped a few ice cubes into my coffee, pouring it into a to- go cup.

I yawned, "I have a presentation in one of my classes today, and then Lilo and I have to lead around a class of high school students who are touring the campus."

He nodded his head, then paused. "Isn't that kind of a bad idea? To lead the high school students I mean. You guys are kind of well known now..."

Reaching out to take my cup of coffee from Minghao I murmured, "it'll be fine. We did it at the beginning of our exchange."

"Yeah, but that was then. And this is now." Minghao replied stubbornly.

'Yes.' And radio silence. No real reply.

I stood up from the table and began to head for the door. "It's fine. It's not like you care if one of them kidnaps me or anything."

A moment passed and I was nearly at the door before Minghao caught my wrist. "It's not like that at all Tayten." He sighed, "I was going to wait for a better day... but you seem kind of upset so, how about dinner tonight?"

Before I could reply Lilo stumbled into the room wearing her favorite black dress with a red flannel patterned jacket over top. Sometimes I just want to point out how pretty she is. It would be a lie if I didn't say that sometimes when Lilo and I mess around we're so gay for each other. We're like two peas in a pod. "You look like a full freakin meal." I said.

Lilo chuckled. "You look like a snack." She murmured as she compared our ridiculous height difference.

I laughed, "I can still tear you up."

Lilo grabbed her protein drink from the fridge. "Sure kiddo. We gotta go. So stop flirting." She continued as she pushed me out the door.

"Flirting!? Me!? Compared to you and Jun!? Bish please!" I retorted as she headed for the van. School is kind of a blessing in disguise. The camera men weren't allowed on campus so at least that felt the same...

I breezed through my presentation and all my classes before and after. My current professor seemed more or less done with my class, so slowly but surely he gave up. Eventually he called for class to be dismissed a whole twenty minutes earlier than usual. I sauntered out of the room and made my way through the large campus to Lilo's building. The zoology department was so far from the psychological studies building, the walk bothered me. "I'm too lazy for this." I muttered to myself as I continued my trek across the campus.

I camped out outside of Lilo's class until I heard the usual bustling of chairs and animals. Then the doors opened and a few students came out. I walked in slowly to find Lilo still at her table. She had a lizard on the shoulder of her white lab coat as she handled a large snake coiled in a ball around her fists. She eased the scaley beast into a terrarium and peeled off her blue rubber gloves. Seeing me she walked over happily.

My eyes were glued to the lizard. It better not move. I swear to god if it comes near me... then it moved. It moved closer to Lilo's neck, licking her like it was a dog.

Chuckling she scooped it up in her hand, "sorry Xiu, I totally forgot about you." She murmured taking the lizard to a large terrarium where a few others basked under heating lamps.

"You're job is gross," I muttered looking at all the animals.

Lilo shrugged as she shimmied out of her lab coat leaving it on the table. "Let's go, the group will be here soon."
