Tayten's POV
The average human being has about 25,000 some days to live. And a vast majority of those people spend at least an odd 10,000 some days being upset in some way, shape or form for whatever reason. But I'm not the average human being. I probably will only spend 100 days being upset, because I'm above this thing they call sadness.
Out of those 100 days I've probably used up 13..? Well... now make it 14. I was homesick, which is odd cause my home is small and it consists of just me, Lilo, and Jamie. Jamie's pretty cool... but she didn't take a foreign language, so she's holding down the fort while Lilo and I are over here. Anyways, it didn't make sense for me to be homesick... Jamie's also pretty new to our apartment so it probably wasn't that I was missing her... I MEAN I DO SOMETIMES, but like- okay you know what I mean. OKAY? OKAY.
Lilo was laying on the couch listening to music. Today was an off day, no camera men to be hiding around filming our every last breath. Jun was still visiting family. I guess it makes sense though since he lives in a whole other country from them. It must be lonely. Wait. Never mind he lives with twelve people. I don't think any of them even know what the word lonely means anymore.
I sighed as I raked my fingers through Minghao's hair.
"Cut it out." He muttered. "If you want my help on your homework don't annoy me."
I rolled my eyes, "usually I'd have my kitty cat here to pet. But I don't. So, you're my makeshift kitty."
"Don't you dare as me to purr." He muttered, "annoy Gunther, or literally anyone else." He continued.
I sighed leaning forward to glance over his shoulder, "so you're having a bad day too?"
"I'm not, but I take it you are." He replied cooly.
I didn't reply immediately, I was feeling slow and honestly dead inside. "I'm fine." I muttered.
"Ugh." Minghao muttered tossing my binder from across the floor.
"Hey my homework...." I murmured looking at the scattered papers.
He stood up then gesturing to me. "Get up."
"Why?" I retorted.
"Because," he began, "you're cranky, and I know all the best ways to cure cranky."
Trying not to smile I got up. The thin boy lead me to the door and we left, Lilo not seeming to notice as we did. And for once I felt at ease that I'd left Gunther on the couch, and not in my hand.
We walked through the neighborhood, taking our time. I wasn't sure where we were going and I got the feeling that that was the point. To wander with no clear objective. We talked about trivial things. Like our lives we had put on hold for this show, our family, friends. We gossiped about Jun and Lilo, we also gossiped about Jun and Lilo if you get what I mean. Aha wink wink. And after that conversation it lead us to a meaningful realization. One we wouldn't say aloud or really discuss, but I could tell by the shift in the air Minghao had let it cross his mind.
If there's a Lilo and Jun.... does that mean there's a Tayten and Minghao?
Nahhhhhhh. That's silly, right? As if he read my mind he muttered, "it's not completely stupid... I don't know. I tend to ease into things slowly." He sighed, staring at his breath in the air in front of him. It was freezing. Then he wrapped an arm around my shoulders drawing me closer as we walked.
I looked up expecting some witty comment. But I didn't get one. He just gave me a lopsided smile murmuring, "what? I'm cold."
