"Parker, stop pushing the buttons," I warned for the fifth time as I took another picture of the antiques.
"It's not like they actually work anymore," he laughed and set his head on my shoulder.
"Smile!" I said taking a selfie with him, "Just enjoy it. We are in a World War 2 warship, and the only thing you find entertaining is the buttons?"
He nodded once. I rolled my eyes.
"Here, use with my camera. Be creative or something," I laughed at my boyfriend's childish behavior as I pulled the strap from around my neck. He smiled and took pictures of- well, everything. The boat suddenly shook and Peter and I fell into the wall beside us.
"I thought this boat was dormant," I said looking around.
"It was," Peter hesitantly handed the camera back to me, "Stay here, alright? I'm gonna go check it out."
Despite his words, he stood in front of me expectantly. I gave him a confused look.
"Promise me you'll be smart and stay out of trouble," he spoke, worry becoming more evident in his voice.
"I'm not the one you should be worrying about," I raised an eyebrow, "But if it makes you feel better, then yes, I promise."
He grinned and kissed my cheek before grabbing his backpack and running off.
"Stay safe, Pete," I called after him. I watched the metal walls around me as everything became eerily quiet.
Suddenly, I saw a red and blue flash past the large window in front off me.
I nervously watched him swing to the bottom of the ship, right above the water. He tried patching a giant hole in the side of the ship, but was soon hit by some type of villain- who it was, I couldn't tell.
Next thing I knew, the glass shattered and I stumbled backwards, Spider-Man on the floor in front of me. I dropped my camera with a short, shocked yell.
"Oh my gosh," I muttered and ran to him, kneeling down. He didn't move, "Wake up. Please wake up."
The silence haunted me as the seconds passed.
"Peter," I said again, pressing my palm against the side of his face.
"Ow," he mumbled only slightly moving. He took his mask off and coughed. I worriedly glanced around me for anyone who might see before realizing we were alone. The crowds must've left when they realized they were in danger, like any sane person would do.
"Oh my gosh," I breathed and pulled him into a hug. He wrapped his arms around me as well.
"I thought you were dead. I thought I lost you, you can't do that to-" he cut me off my putting his lips on mine.
"You broke your camera," He struggled to laugh, holding his side.
"Oh man," I sighed looking back at the now shattered device, "My mom's gonna kill me."
"I'll buy you a new one," he smiled.
Extra:
"___!" Peter yelled once I got into the school hallway.
"Oh, hey!" I smiled as he pecked me on the cheek.
"I got you something!" he said happily handing me a wrapped box.
"Aww," I smiled quickly taking off the lid. I gasped and picked up the new camera.
"You got me a new camera!" I shouted excitedly and jump-hugging him. He hugged me back.
"As promised. Also, turn it on," he said pulling away. I furrowed my eyebrows slightly before looking down at the screen, pressing the power button. A picture was already on the screen. (see below)
"I love it."
"And I love you."
