"Are you ready?" Dad asked me, patting my shoulders.
"I feel like I should be asking you that same question," I noted sarcastically, "I honestly didn't think you'd say yes to this."
"The world has to find out about you at some point, right?" he gave me a warm smile, "I could only hide a little Stark for so long."
I smiled as he kissed me on my forehead. We turned to the door leading into the meeting room filled with hundreds of reporters. I took in a deep breath as my dad made his way onto the stage- introducing himself and mentioning a guest with a bright idea for the Avengers initiative.
"-As you all know, I have a reputation for being a playboy," he laughed along with the crowd, "Um, and about fifteen years ago, I found out that I was going to have a child. So, please welcome up the smartest young woman I know, my daughter.... (Y/n) Stark."
The crowd erupted in gasps and flashing cameras, all being covered by the loud applause. I brushed down the black and gold pencil skirt dress I was wearing and focused on the clicking of my heels to calm my nerves. Answer questions, don't make a fool of yourself, introduce your idea, answer more questions, leave. Easy...
I stood behind the podium, hugging my dad before he left. Millions of questions and microphones were thrown at me like a giant wave of curiosity. I smiled nervously.
"Uh, you," I pointed to one of the reporters.
"Miss Stark, did your father homeschool you for the last fifteen years?"
"Yes, yes he did," I smiled and folded my hands, "And I think he did a pretty good job, too."
I answered a few more random questions before one caught my ear.
"Miss Stark- Miss Stark, are you going to join the Avengers?" a young looking woman asked.
"In response to your question," I made eye contact with the woman so everyone knew what I was talking about, "That's why I'm here today. My dad and I have been debating the best option for my well being and, well, yes. I will be officially joining the Avengers.. soon. Um, I still have training and for privacy purposes, won't give an exact month, but I am planning on teaming up with Spider Man until that day. That is- if he agrees. I haven't gotten an exact answer, yet."
The room, once again, erupted with noisy questions.
"Does that mean you have been in contact with the man behind the mask?"
"Who is Spider Man?"
"Do you have a personal relationship with him?"
"Miss Stark-"
"Okay, I think that's enough questions for today. Thank you all for your time," Dad came up and spoke from behind me. He ushered me backstage once again.
"Did I do okay? It all went so fast-"
"You did great, Sweetie," he rubbed my arm, "You're a Stark. It's in your blood."
I smiled and walked back out into the compound, heading for my room

"Come on, Ned! You're gonna miss it!" Peter hurried his friend who was currently making popcorn in the kitchen.
"I'm coming, I'm coming!" Ned finally appeared, a giant bowl in his hand. He plopped down on the couch beside his friend and waited for the announcement to drop. Everyone knew about this- because if Iron Man says something is important- then something is important. The two boys smiled giddily on the old couch as their favorite hero continued.
