*this is like a lot of the soulmate AU's combined*
I have always wanted a soulmate. In fact, I planned out my wedding when I was eight. I prayed every night that God would send me the right man, or at least prepare the right man for me. The world was so boring, the things my friends called beautiful I could only see in black and white. And some shades of very very dark grey. *Batman theme starts playing. Okay, sorry, back to the story*
I opened my locker, tugging on my red jacket. White headphones rested on my shoulder, and my brown boots went up a little past my ankle, tied with two perfect bow-knots. Along with those accessories I had a simple black tee-shirt and ripped jeans. At least, those are the colors I had been told they were. Even though I have no idea what they look like. Anyways, I've always followed after my dad, Peter Quill, in style and personality.
I took out the books I needed for chemistry and made my way through the crowded hallway.
"I really need to bring that up in the next Student Body meeting," I thought out loud, meanwhile finding the chemistry room and taking my seat. I hear chemistry is better with color, not to mention difficult without it. Yet I still have a 4.0 GPA, so I manage. I took out my sketchbook, drawing who I thought my soulmate might be. Why was I so obsessed with soulmates today of all days? Well,
I looked at my wrist to check the countdown again. '2 Minutes 37 Seconds'. Holy crap. I continued drawing to calm my nerves, but it didn't help. I finished the hair and face before setting down my pencil to look at it. '1 Minute 02 Seconds'
Okay, (Y/n) don't panic, just act normal. Oh my gosh, what if he's disappointed?! What if he's ugly?! Oh my........ what if it's someone like Flash!? That would be awful and then I'd be stuck-
"Cool drawing," someone said, interrupting my thoughts. '0 Minutes 12 Seconds'
I didn't look up. I was too afraid, because I know whoever that voice belonged to was my soulmate. I stared at my wrist. '0 Minutes 6 Seconds'.
"Now or never," I whispered to myself, finally glancing up. Then I realized who it was, Peter Parker. My crush for like, two years. The irony. He was looking at his wrist, too, noticing the final seconds tick down.
My eyes finally met his, and color burst into the air. The first color I saw was his brown eyes, golden lacing the inner ring. I smiled, looking at my jacket. The vibrant color was amazing, along with the blue jeans I was currently wearing. I glanced at the chalkboard in the front of class, unsure what color it was, but loving the soft tone of it. Peter took the seat next to me.
"Welp, I guess we're soulmates," he said nervously, scratching the back of his neck and smiling like a goof.
"Guess so," I grinned, "Hey, Peter, you know my name, right?"
"Y-yeah," he said looking at my eyes again, "(Y/n), right?"
"Yeah," I replied looking back down at my sketchbook, now colored pencils littering the desk. Turns out I had been drawing with almost every color, not just grey and black. Oops.
"Do you know what all of these colors are?" I whispered to Peter as class started.
"I am as new to this as you are," he whispered back, taking notes. I held up each colored pencil at a time, matching the color to things in the room. The pencil reading 'Leaf Green' matched the chalkboard and the plants outside. The yellow-
"(Y/n), are you with us?" the teacher asked, hand on her hip.
"Y-yes, ma'am," I lied setting down the pencils.
"Then what's the answer to this problem?" she replied, trying to embarrass me.
"Uh, well if Fe on the left equals 7, then Fe on the right would have to be 2." I said, quickly coming up with the formula.
"Th-that is correct, well done," she said semi-shocked. Peter just chuckled, but stayed focused on the board. I noticed a slight, shy shade of pink dust his cheeks. I smirked at myself, holding up a 'Rose Pink' pencil to his face.
"Shut up," he muttered with a grin still dancing on his lips.
Man, I got lucky..
A/N: Hope you guys liked it, I was in a bit of a rush when I wrote it cause I had to go to church. Anyways, love you all <3 And have an amazing day!!!
