The class left the hotel for the planned tourist activities- museums, gondola rides, fancy foods. I kept my distance, walking down one of the cobblestone streets and watching the gondola's pass. My phone began to buzz and I pulled it from my pocket. The contact was private.
"What's up," I spoke as I put it to my ear.
"We've got a problem," Agent Hill spoke on the other end.
"What kind of problem?" I stopped walking and made a map of the area around me, something that had simply become habit after years of training and battles.
"Major energy waves coming from your location," Maria paused, "They match what happened in New Mexico. You better get ready for something big."
A wave ran beside me- something big underneath it. I furrowed my eyebrows and tapped my bracelets, metal covering my hands with blasters, "Found it. I'm gonna need back-up."
"He's on his way," Maria finished before I ended the call and shoved the phone back into my pocket.
"You guys need to leave!" I shouted to the people nearby. They glanced at me skeptically. A few of the women began to scream, making me spin to face the water again. A giant creature erupted from it, completely made of water. The group ran from the streets, "They never listen."
The creature's arm tore through one of the buildings. I dodged the falling debris, shooting pieces of concrete to break them apart into smaller fragments. They weren't kidding when they said what these things were capable of.
My blasters pushed me into the air and towards the creature. I shot at it a few times, which caused no damage at all.
"I've got it, kid!" Mr. Beck shouted from beside me.
"Not on your own you don't!" I shouted back. He shot at it as well, having very little effect. A wave hand knocked me from the air; I crashed onto a nearby building, wincing and pushing myself back up. Scrapes on my skin stung with the movement.
"How do we kill it?" I shouted again, "Anyway we can heat it up? Turn it into gas or something?"
"That might work, but not with any technology we have," he replied, dodging a swing. I balanced myself on the top of the building to give my blasters a break. I was soaked from head to toe, trying to pull my hair from my face. Even my socks were wet.
"Excuse me!" Peter's voice rang out. I turned around to see him clinging to the side of the building, "Julia?"
"Yeah, hey, you ready to help yet or still want your vacation?" I ran over to help him up.
"What is it?" he steadied himself, a masquerade mask covering his face. Beck circled around the monster and continued to shoot, "Who is that?"
"It's an elemental," I grabbed the blast-gun from my jacket and began to shoot, pleased that the blasts reached far enough. These hit the creature, but it barely flinched as a reaction, "And he's Mr. Beck. He knows a lot about these things, I guess."
"Stark, you know this guy?" Beck flew nearby.
"He's the other Avenger," I shouted up to him.
"Alright, then you and Mr. Other Avenger need to lead it away from the canal!" Beck instructed. I took in a deep breath and fired up my blasters again.
"Hey, remember that one time when we were fighting the Chameleon at that water park? And the only way to distract him was by splitting up?" I spoke to the boy. I couldn't see his features, but he seemed confused.
