Okay, so I'm gonna start with the author's note... I am sooo sorry. I'm taking a family vacation in a few days and I've been busy prepping and I feel like this week hit me like a train. Honestly, my brain hasn't been working to much lately (which is saying a lot cause normally I'm really quick-witted) and I feel so tired.
So, I'm sorry I missed a week of updates, but to make up for it, these next imagines don't have much fluff but they are the first few chapters to a book I will be posting soon called
"Queen Bee // Peter Parker Love Story"
So, I will tell you when the book is published, but for now a little sneak peek.. enjoy! <3
I sat in the empty parking garage, watching the city. Fifteen. I'm finally fifteen.
"Happy Birthday to me," I smiled and took a sip of the root beer in my hands. A single bee buzzed by me, causing me to flinch a bit. It landed on my hand as I set down my drink.
"Hey, where's your family, little guy?" I chuckled a bit, remembering that all of the bees we see outside of the hive are female, "Well, little girl, I should say."
The bee crawled around a bit, then stopped.
"Yeah, I don't have a family eith- OUCH!" I screeched as the bee stung me. I ripped the stinger out without thinking. The searing pain increased and I realized what I had done. My arm swelled a little, went bright red, then went back to normal. The pain ceased.
"What the heck was that for?!" The bee stumbled off of my hand and curled up on the cement. She went still and I knew she had died. Weird. In that moment, everything got brighter. I eyed every detail I could, but absolutely everything had been slightly modified. I looked back at my hand and watched as a black stripe ran up my arm into my sleeve. I quickly pulled of my sweater and watched the rest of the line move to my chest, then up. I couldn't see it from there, but something told be it had gone up my neck, too. Then it disappeared, all at once.
"What were you?" I took a closer look at the now dead creature, and noticed how it was bigger than normal bees. It was the queen of the colony. I heard a buzzing sound in the distance. Then I could hear everything. The honking car half a mile away, the children laughing at the park a few blocks away, a couple talking at the coffee shop down the road. I stood up, faster than I remember being able to. I shrugged it off and watched as a swarm of bees came towards me.
I backed away a bit, nervous that I sorta killed their queen. I mean, I didn't, but they probably didn't know that. They came right up to my face and.. stopped. I curiously observed as they just hovered in front off me.
'Why don't they keep moving or something?' I thought. As if on queue, they backed up as a group. I laughed a bit. Like I could control a hive of bees..
'Fly up a bit,' I thought again, just for the fun on it. Once again, they moved up. I tilted my head and they tilted their bodies. I turned around to walk away, thinking I had gone crazy, and they followed. I stopped, they stopped.
"Fine then," I spoke to them. I waved and they formed into a human hand and waved back.
"I'm going insane," I mumbled and they buzzed in return. Somehow I knew they meant 'You're perfectly sane.'
"No I'm not," I responding, proving my own point, "I'm talking to bees."
'You're fine, Queen,' they droned in return.
"Queen?" I wondered out loud.
'Yes, Queen. Our past Queen's time was over, and she had to chose someone to pass her powers on to. She chose you,' they hummed.
"Powers?" I questioned, pushing for more answers.
'Powers. Bees can do very much, and normally other bees are chosen to be Queen. Apparently, you were a better choice," they murmured back.
"What powers do I have?" I asked, thinking back to when things started getting weird with my senses.
'With time, Queen. You will find with time,' they buzzed. One bee flew forward a bit, 'We are your servants now, and you have a lot to do and learn. But for now, Queen, get some rest.'
I nodded, walking over to my hammock. I stepped in, swinging a bit.
'Now just to pray that the bees don't kill me in my sleep,' I thought.
'Wouldn't think of it, Queen,' they responded with another buzz and then silence as I watched them cover the support beams my hammock was tied to.
'Oh right, you guys can hear my thoughts. So much for privacy. Well, um, good night, I guess?' I thought it out as more of a question.
'Night, Queen,' the single bee who had stepped out before hummed.
And with that, I drifted off into a needed deep sleep.
