Hello all, I am here!
So I had to get some foodstuff to eat on the weekends at school since my meal plan doesn't cover weekends. I decided to try the limited edition Pumpkin Spice Cheerios, since Cheerios is my favorite cereal and the new flavors they introduce are usually pretty good, like I'd be totally okay if they made strawberry a regular flavor instead of limited edition. So I get the cereal. Now, I'm not the hugest fan of pumpkin spice. Pumpkin pies? I'm game. I don't like them as much as I used to, I guess my palate has changed a bit over the years. Pumpkin bread pudding? I'm down for that 100% of the time, I just love bread pudding in all of it's glorious forms. Anything else pumpkin spice, like coffee (or any beverage at all really), chapstick, yogurt, all that junk. But still, I gotta give my Cheerios a chance.
Not my greatest idea. Like, you know how nutmeg smells? Like if you have a thing of ground nutmeg in your spice cabinet and just take a nice whiff of it, that's what these Cheerios taste like. The pumpkin is barely there. I'm not saying it's subtle, like it's just enough that it doesn't overpower but you can still taste it, I'm talking you gotta go looking for it otherwise you don't know it's there. The cinnamon is subtle, enough that it doesn't taste like straight nutmeg. Like, my mouth got all tingly like it would if I put too much spice in a dessert. The first time I tried it I thought I was having an allergic reaction cause of that tingly feeling. Like you know how ginger snaps are like an intense kind of spice flavor? It's like a more subdued version of that, but still not what you'd expect. Like I was thinking of a pumpkin pie kind of flavor instead.
So overall Pumpkin Spice Cheerios aren't that great. I wouldn't say they're gross, and I'm gonna finish the box because I don't like to waste perfectly good food, but I probably won't buy them again.
So yeah, that's it for this review. Maybe I'll do more like this in the future.
