Yay, I'm finished with my finals! Waiting on the final grades for Persuasion, Modern East Asia, and Public History, but I feel like I did fine. I HAVE AN A IN PERSUASION!!! I totally expected to have a high C/low B or something, but I participated in bonus point opportunities, had perfect attendance, and she gave me extra points because I was the only one that showed up to be an audience member while some people redid one of their debates. In total I got 48 extra points and that raised my grade up to a miraculous 99 A.
Right now I have all A's except for modern east Asia, but that guy grades real weird and doesn't tell us what we did right or wrong so idk how to do better than a B.
But yeah, finally done as of today, gonna pack up and head home tomorrow. We're also now officially living with my grandpa! The house is sold, it's contents in storage, and we're hoping to start building in late January/early February, or whenever the ground dries up from the near constant dampness.
It's currently past 12:30 AM and my roommate's mom is a douchebag. My roommate was done with finals last week and her mom was supposed to pick her up on Friday. Friday turned into Sunday, and Sunday she suddenly had "car trouble" despite having steady driven to church and back with no problem Sunday morning. After the "car trouble" arose on Sunday, my roomie didn't hear back from her mom until later that night that she was getting a family friend to look at the car. We didn't hear back until Monday that the family friend wasn't able to make it on Sunday but he was coming then. Didn't hear back from her mom for the rest of Monday. So now it's Tuesday, or should I say Wednesday because now it's past midnight, and we are both in bed ready to go to sleep and her mom texts her that she's about to drive up.
It's past midnight on the last day of finals week.
People are sleeping.
People have 8 AM finals in the morning.
My roommate wants to cry because she was showered, in bed, and ready to go to sleep and her mom gave her no warning.
Mom gets into the room, "oh [my name]'s still awake so we're not bothering her."
Yes but what about our neighbors that can hear the fact that someone is moving out?
And even then she was bothering me because I was trying to wind down for bed and am slightly sick and hopped up on cold medicine.
I've encountered her inconsiderate behavior before, but this was a new high.
My roommate had unpacked some of a bag to find her bathroom stuff so she could shower, so she had to repack her stuff, and her mom was bitching about how it wasn't done. She wasn't even realizing how inconsiderate she was being. My roomie brought up the other people trying to sleep and her mom was trying to argue that the desk attendant (who has to stay at the desk until 2 AM because it's their job) was up watching cartoons and not sleeping.
I felt bad earlier for thinking bad about her mom but not anymore. She's being a douchebag. She's almost made my roommate cry several times and thinks it's perfectly fine to completely ignore set plans, knowing full well that my roommate was supposed to have moved out days ago.
So in the time it's taken me to write this my roomie was able to pack up and get her stuff out and they left around 1:15 AM. We both live around two hours away so she won't be getting back until past 3.
It took all my self control to not call out her mom, and I'm 100% telling my parent they should be proud of me for that.
I'm tired as heck now, so goodnight! 😴✌️
