Chapter 41 - The Brother

"what happened?" Karylle asked Vice when she finally arrived upstairs. Walang ibang nagawa si Vice kundi ang yakapin ang dalaga sa labis na pag-aalala.

"Bea happened." Vhong said looking at her sister, Anne.

"Let's go.. I don't like to be in this place anymore." Vice said as he looked at Karylle. "it's not safe.. It's not safe everywhere."

"why? What did she say?"

From below, Alex saw the gesture of the two. "so you really followed your heart Vice."

Nagpaalam si Vice at K sa mga kaibigan. They said K was not feeling well so kailangan niya ihatid and he also had to do some paperworks.

"Vice, what did Bea tell you?" Karylle asked once again while they are on their way to Vice's car.

Vice stopped walking and so did Karylle. He stared at her eyes and said, "She threatened me. She said she'd destroy me." there was a short pause between the two.

Karylle was speechless. "is it because of me?"

Vice walked again trying to ignore the question. "ikaw? May ginawa ba siya sa'yo?"

"No. She just insulted me." They finally reached the car. Vice opened the door so that karylle could get in. He then entered the driver's seat.

"I don't know what to do with her."

"is it because of me? I can't dare to see you crumble in the ground because of me." Karylle said na hindi mapakali.

"shhh.. that will not happen, okay? And it's not because of you."

"I know she'll use me to ruin your name. You've worked hard all those years and because of me-"

"K.. stop." Vice said seriously. He then touched Karylle's face. 

"I'm scared." Karylle said as she touched vice's hand in her face.

"Me too." Vice caressed Karylle's face one last time before he gripped the steering wheel. "that's why we need to be extra careful now. We can't be seen in public. We don't know who's watchin us."

"you're not alone in this fight. I'm with you."

"I know.." Coz your my weakness and at the same time my strength.. Vice grabbed Karylle's hand and kissed it before he finally started the engine.

"why can't they just leave us alone?!" Karylle said anxiously as they arrived at the house.

"because they're jealous. They don't have what we have."

"I want you to text me whenever you're going out or if you see someone looking at your house." Vice started to remove his outer clothes.

"okay.. but what do we do now?"

"I don't know.. sleep?"

"Vice I can't live like this." Karylle protested. "we are hiding like criminals.. It's driving me crazy.. why is this happening???"

Vice stopped what he's doing to hug Karylle. "I'm so sorry you had to feel this way. But it's only you and me now. We have to look out for each other. It's the only thing we could do."

"Since when??" Alex asked Billy. She was back in the VIP area while the other girls are still dancing below. Billy arched his brows at the question.

"what do you mean since when?" he gave a small laugh.

"Vice and Karylle."

Billy ignored the thought and tried to divert the topic. "don't be absurd alex. I'll go get more drinks."
