Chapter 46 - The First Wave

"Oh, Emman.. Gabi na ah." Bea said as she opened the gate. Biglang may kumatok rito at di niya akalain na si Emman pala. "napuntahan mo ba yung resthouse?"

"yeah. I saw them." Emman answered. Halata ang pagkalutang sa mukha niya dulot ng nangyari sa kanila ni Vice.

"anong nangyari dyan sa mukha mo?" tanong ni Bea. She noticed the bruises on Emman's face.

"nagsuntukan kami ni Vice." matamlay na sagot ni Emman. 

Bea didn't speak for a moment.. "...you look bad." Emman's tie was off and his suit was a mess.

"I know." Emman rolled his eyes. "pero mas napuruhan ko si Vice."

Sa sinabi ni Emman, biglang nakaramdam ng pagkaawa at pag-aalala si Bea. "Nakita mo ba talaga sila?"

"yes."

"well... what are we waiting for? Let's tell your dad." Bea moved forward but Emman stopped her.

"we can't do that." Emman answered.

"why not?"

"I went to the mansion to tell him about Karylle's pregnancy and Bobot stopped me."

"And so?" bea said. "this time let's make sure no one stops us."

"I don't feel like it anymore.."

Nagtaka si Bea sa sagot ni Emman. "what? what do you mean?"

"I don't wanna do this anymore." Pasukong sabi ni Emman. "I'm tired. I'm tired beating Vice."

"what? Ngayon ka pa mapapagod eh ang lapit na natin!" tinanggal ni Bea ang kamay ni Emman sa shoulders niya.

"i said stop.." Emman said. "family is power.. I can't destroy my family."

"what are you talking about?" nagsisimula nang mainis si Bea kay Emman. "stop being a jerk!"

"If i do this it's not just Vice but the whole family that gets affected." Emman looked away. "I just realized that."

"What..w-what about destroying Vice's life?"

"Makakarma rin 'yan si Vice. Just not in my hands." Emman opened the gate again to get out.

"with whose hands then?!" Bea shouted but Emman just ignored her. "you can't just walk away!"

"EMMAN!" Bea shouted once again but she only hears the screeching of Emman's car. Bloody Vicerals..

"I told Billy and Vhong already that I won't be going." Vice said as he put down his cellphone. Karylle was tending to his bruises.

"Okay lang ba sa kanila?"

"yeah, don't worry about those two." Vice said. "it's a pity though... nag effort pa naman tayo magbihis.. We were to go and play billiards. At least maging masaya man lang tayo kahit minsan lang."

Biglang napangiwi si Vice pagkatapos dampian ng bulak ang sugat niya."konting tiis na lang." nilagyan ulit ni Karylle ng betadyne ung sugat ni Vice.

"what happened after you guys knocked each other?" Karylle opened the topic. She was referring to Emman.

"we talked." Sagot ni Vice kaya naman naalala niya ulit yung convo nila ni Emman.

"and then? Magsusumbong na ba siya? Should I pack my things?" malungkot na sabi ni Karylle.

Vice stopped Karylle's hand from applying first aid. "Please calm down. No one's leaving. Okay?"

"How could i calm down? Sinugod ka niya dito.. Who knows what he's planning?"
