Chapter 6 - Cato

KATNISS POV

Ugh I hate Mondays, I think to myself as I hop into the shower and wash my hair. I quickly dress into some jeans and a shirt making sure I grab my jumper, before heading downstairs. I greet Glimmer who is sat at the table eating a bowl of fruit and grab a banana.

"I'm driving today" I tell Glimmer, taking a bite out of my piece of fruit.

"Ok cool, we'll I'm ready to go when you are" She says, placing her now empty bowl in the sink.

"Let's go!"

I head outside to the car and get in, dumping my bag on the seat behind me. Shortly after Glimmer joins me sitting next to me in the front.

"Hey do you mind if we pick up Cato?"

"Sure, where does he live?" I only knew where the girls and Peeta lived so this was going to be quite the adventure.

"Down Minors Lane and he lives at number 2" (A/N: The first person to tell me in the comments what his address means gets a mention in the next chapter!)

I drive slowly looking at all the street names until we reach Minors Lane. I park in front of number 2 and beep the horn. 5 seconds later Cato comes bundling out the house and into the back seat of the car.

"Woah there turbo! What's the hurry?" I ask Cato, turning around in my seat.

"Just go Katniss!" He shouts and I start to pull away but not before I see his dad rush out of the house screaming his name.

He sees the car and begins to run towards it. I panic and hit the accelerator, pulling out of his road and speeding towards school. I check my mirrors to see if he is still following us but when I see that he isn't I begin to slow down.

"What the hell was that!" I shout at Cato, looking at him through my Mirror. He ignores me which just agitates me more.

"Katniss calm down" Glimmer says to me, glancing back at Cato every now and then.

"Fine but you better tell me later sword!" We drive the rest of the way to school in silence.

As soon as I reach my parking spot Cato is out of the car and so is Glimmer. She rushes to join him and takes his hand walking towards the tutor base (A/N or homeroom but that's what it's called at my school).

I get out the car and grab my bag. I walk to my locker and replace the books I don't need with the ones I do. I feel someone grab my waist and scream. The person spins me around and I stop once I realise it's Peeta. He laughs at my reaction but I stop him with my lips. I feel everybody around us begin to stare so I pull away slowly, shutting my locker and taking Peeta's hand in mine. We walk to the Tutor Base together to see everybody there. I see Cato and he is acting although it never happend. Laughing at Finnicks awful jokes and smirking at Marvels Girl story's. Whenever Marvel mentions another girl Clove tenses but it's clear to everyone that She is the only one for him and vice versa. I take my seat next to Peeta just as Mr Heavensbee walks in.

"Settle down now!" He booms and he places all his paper work on his desk and starts up the computer.

"I hope you all had a lovely weekend but it's back to school now" He tells us all.

He notices Marvel who is still talking.

"Ahh Mr Knight" he says, smiling widely " I think the rest of the class would like to hear what you have to say"

"Umm Iwasjusttellingcatothatiwouldliketotakecloveonadate" Marvel rushes, then sighs when nobody understood what he said. He takes his seat as Mr Heavensbee writes a detention slip.
