Chapter 15 - District 12

KATNISS POV

"Katniss wake up" Peeta shakes me. "Get up Kat we got to get ready"
I groan and roll over. I shove the duvet to one side and stomp into the bathroom. I hear Peeta chuckling as I shut the door. I look at the alarm clock in his bathroom and do a double take when I see the time. 2:45! Our flight is at 6 so we have to leave by 3:30 but still!
I have a short shower and get dressed in some simple leggings and a tank top, throwing a comfy jumper ontop. I don't bother with any makeup seeing as we are going to be a on a plane and it will all come off anyways. I return to Peetas room and he jumps in the shower as I finish off packing the last few bits and pieces like my phone charger and Pjs.
After Peeta is out of the shower there is a small knock on the door. I answer it to find a very tired looking Mr Mellark carrying some bags of food.
"Morning" I say looking at the food.
"I packed some things from the bakery for the trip" He says handing us each one.
"Are you guys ready to go?" Steven in driving us to the airport so we don't have to leave the car there.
"Yeh I think so" Peeta says picking up two of our 4 suitcases. I grab the other two and sling my backpack over my shoulder. I follow them downstairs and out to the car. I watch as Peeta puts the suitcases in the boot and ham in both of mine.
"Geese Kat what have you got in here?" He says out of breath from picking them up.
"My essentials" I say getting in the back of the car. "and Christmas presents" I say making Peeta stop.
"Wait" He says in thought. "No it's okay I remembered them I think" He says returning to the task of getting in the car.
We drive to the airport talking about our plans and Prims reaction to her presents. When we arrive we both give Steven a hug and thank him for driving us here. We wait until he is out of sight before continuing into the empty airport.
We make it through security ok and head into the main area. I immediately drag Peeta into the boots store but he gets his own back when he takes me into the men's shops. After our mini shopping trip we locate our gate on the board and head over to the waiting lounge. I munch on the Chocolate croissant that was in the bag and wait for the plane to be ready.
"Flight 31080012 to District 12 is now boarding" the speaker says.
"Let's go Kat" Peeta says shaking me awake.
We walk through the boarding terminal and get on the plane. We find our seats and seeing as it is only 2 hours there are no TVs to watch. I get out my laptop and place it on my lap ready for takeoff. I take Peetas hand as we begin to move over to the runway.
"Kat everything will be fine" he says as we take off. I hate flying and he knows it. I turn back to my laptop when the signs have turned off and start to watch Monsters University. I like Disney ok? I haven't seen this one yet and neither has Peeta so I take out my splitter and we both watch the film. When it finishes there is only 30 minutes left and we have started to drop down. I look out the window and see parts of District 12 that I remember. I start to get excited as the we begin to land at the airport.
"I'm so excited Peeta!" I say as I run around the airport waiting to collect our bags.
"I can tell" He says catching me and holding me at the waist. He looks at me for a second before pulling me closer and kissing me.
"Baggage from flight. 31080012 are now being unloaded. please standby."
I break away and walk over the conveyer belt. I see our bags and make Peeta pick them off the Belt. After that we walk through to the main entrance and wait for My parents to pick us up. I begin to shiver so Peeta wraps his arms around me whilst we wait. After 20 minutes or so a black car that seems familiar stops and I see a blonde haired girl fly out of the back door.
"Katniss!" she screams and I know it's Prim. I run towards her dumping my bag and pick her up. I spin around and put her down bringing her into a hug.
"I missed you so much Prim" I say Into her ear. I let go and see my parents getting out of the car.
"Mum! Dad!" I shout running up to them and hugging them both.

PEETAS POV

"Katniss!" a blonde haired girl screams. I assume that's Prim seeing the way Katniss ran towards her. I watch by the bags and she spins her around and hugs her.
"Mum! Dad!" she shouts running towards some people getting out of a car. She hugs them both before leading everyone towards me.
"Guys this is Peeta." Katniss says taking my hand.
"Nice to meet you! We have heard lots if things and we can't wait to spend the holidays with you!" Mrs Everdeen says pulling me into a hug.
"Nice to meet you too Mrs Everdeen" I reply politely.
"Oh do call me Lillian" she says.
"It's lovely to meet you to Mr Everdeen" I say turning towards him.
"Great to meet you Son" He says shaking my hand." Please do call me Chris".
"You must be Prim" I say turning to the blonde girl.
"It's so nice to finally meet you!" she shouts hugging my waist.
"You to Prim" I say hugging her back. I look over to see a smiling Katniss and Pick up our bags. We take them to the car and drive over to the Everdeens house still discussing our Plans for this holiday..
