PEETA POV
It's been a week now since Katniss left to go home ill without explanation and she hasn't really spoken to anyone but the girls since. I have spoken to her once of twice but she doesn't seem herself. The girls say that she is just down about life at he moment which I completely understand given her situation but I guess I feel like she could of come and spoken to me.
I walk into school and walk over to Cato and Finnick.
"How have things been?" Cato asks me.
"Oh I don't know, fine I guess" I say frowning a little.
"Have you planned any further?" Finnick asks.
" yeh I have a done a bit more and booked a-" but I stop as I see Katniss walking towards me.
"Why did the conversation stop?" She asks, looking at me.
" I didn't know it had??" I lie and I know I've done it now.
"Cato, Finnick will you excuse us?" She asks still staring at me.
KATNISS POV
He has lied to me again. He promised me no more lies and he broke his promise. He has been acting strange all week and I feel as though he has been avoiding me.
"Peeta can I talk to you for a minute" I ask, dragging him to the corner of the room without waiting for an answer.
"What's up?" He says and I can't hold it in anymore.
" you broke your promise! You promised me no more lies and all week you have been lying and avoiding me!" I say raising my voice. A few people look in our direction but I ignore them.
"Look Katniss I'm sorry" he starts but I cut him off.
" No Peeta I'm sorry!" I shout, " I'm sorry that I'm not the girl you want me to be, that I'm not the happy girl I used to be because you know I'm having a crap time right now and news flash Peeta! You haven't been there for me! I don't even know who you are anymore!" I shout a few tears running down my face. I can see that what I said has pissed him off.
"I tried to talk to you, but you shut me out!" This is the first time that he has ever raised his voice at me, or at all. Shocked I just stand there with the now formed crowd gasping at us.
"You know what Peeta, were done" I say.
"Katniss wait" Peeta grabs onto my arm but I shrug home off.
"You've changed and I don't know who you are anymore." I say and with that I storm out of the room, towards the bathroom. I stand in front of the sink and look at my reflection. I don't even know what he say in me in the first place. Now I'm just an even more broken girl with no family, no real place to live and now nothing to live for. As if on cue the girls walk in and break down.
I know I made a mistake but so did he, I think as each of the girls hug me. Right now it feels like a good decision but later I don't know yet.
"At least we have the singing competition and we left the song choice to you" glimmer says and this does actually make me feel a little better. I know what sing I can sing to make Peeta regret ever lying to me..
