Chapter 8 - Detention

KATNISS POV

After Cato told us about his dad we all decided it would be best if he just moved in with us. We talked to his mum to and she also though it was best for Cato. His dad said nothing on the matter, he just sat there. didn't say anything. didn't do anything. We decided that we would move him in on the Saturday so we would have more time.
After school today, seeing as it was Tuesday, me and Peeta had our detention with Beetee for 2 hours in the science labs. To begin with he made us scrape the gum of the bottom of the table, which was disgusting! Then he told us to organise all the equipment draws, but he left the room so me and Peeta could talk.
"Oh my god this is torture" I say to Peeta who is across the other side of the room.
" I feel you" he says back emptying the tray of tongs across the floor. "f*ck" he says under his breath but I can still hear him. I giggle at his comment and he looks up at me.
"You find....this diracting?" he says striking a pose. I laugh harder as he makes his way over to me. I stop laughing when he grabs my waist and places me on top of one if the counters so I'm level with him. I stare into his bright blue eyes as he leans in towards me. The sound of the door opening is what makes us spring apart and Peeta rushes back to his side whilst I slide off the counter. Beetee walks in and tells us we can leave so Peeta scoops up the rest of the tongs and rushes out behind me.

*TIMEFLASH TO FRIDAY*

It's lunchtime now and the rest of the week couldn't have gone any slower. I received 2 more detentions both for talking in Science and English. I take my place next to Peeta in the food hall and get out my sandwich and snack. The rest of the group slowly join us and Finnick invites us all over for a sleepier at his place tonight.
"What time Sugar boy?" I ask him as he puts yet another sugar cube in his mouth.
"5:30" he says, glaring at my use of his nickname. He only seems to like it when Annie says it to him. speaking if Annie I ask Finnick where she is as she hasn't yet joined us at the table.
"Detention" he answers making the while table gasp. Annie never gets detention. She always does her homework, she never misbehaves and she certainly doesn't talk when the teacher is talking.
"How? Why?" Marvel asks from the other side of the table.
"She turned up late to 3rd period cause we were making out" Finnick says with a smirk which earns a pat in the back from Cato and fist bump from Marvel. Peeta just smiles at him and continues to eat his lunch.

PEETAS POV (though I would switch it up a bit!)

Lunch time finishes fairly quickly and we all clear out to go to our final 2 lessons, neither of which I have with Katniss. I kiss her goodbye and walk of to Maths with Finnick.
"So how's Katniss lover boy?" Finnick asks me.
"1. Why do you call me that and 2. It's good actually it's great." I answer back.
"I call you that because your so in love Peeta and no one has seen you this happy since Rosie was born!"
He's right. I haven't been as happy as I have been in the last 2 weeks since Rosie was born 5 years ago. It feels like I've been dating Katniss for months not just 2 Weeks. We know each other so well already, we just kinda click I guess. We arrive at Maths and take our seats as our teacher, Miss gates walks in. Her name is Miss Gates but she asks us all to call her Wiress and she is kinda crazy. She talks a lot but she plays lots of games with us so it's ok I guess.
Maths finishes and next is geography with Mags. She never told us her last name so we all just call her Mags. She is old but Lovely never the less so we all just get on with it.
At the end if the day I rush to my locker, which just so happens to be next to Katniss', and dump my books. I put them away slowly hoping that she would also stop by her locker so I could see her once more before Finnicks Sleepover tonight. I have no luck so I walk to my car and drive home. I go in through the back door and I'm immediately attacked by Delly.
"Hey little one!" I say picking her up and throwing her over my shoulder. I run through the house like this, making sure I don't hit her head on anything whilst she is screaming and giggling away. Ryan comes downstairs to see what is going on but leaves again when he sees we are just playing.
"Peeta put your sister down and come here a minute!" I hear my mum shout from the kitchen.
I throw Delly down on the sofa and walk into the kitchen.
"Hey mum what's up?" I say, leaning against the kitchen counter.
"Hey sweetie can you just make up some icing for me seeing as I have to finishes this order by 6 tonight?"
"Sure thing" I answer, grabbing the ingredients needed to make my famous Icing. When I'm done the time on the clock reads 5 so I go and pack my things.
I tell my mum I'm staying the Night at Finnick and she kisses me goodbye as I leave through the door. I walk down the road to Finnicks, seeing as he lives 4 doors down from me and there is no point in driving. I can't see any other cars so I must be the first one I think as I knock then open up the door.
"FINNICK!" I shout but I get no reply. I walk into the Kitchen and see why. There on the counter is Finnick and Annie in the middle of a full scale make out session. I see an empty coke bottle and bang it in the side making them both jump apart and scowl at me.
"Now that that's over with" I say eating some crisps from the packet.
The doorbell rings and all the girls walk in. They must of come together. Katniss walks in last and immediately walks into my arms. she turns around so she is facing the others, still keeping my arms around her. The other guys arrive minutes later and soon enough we are sat in a circle playing Truth or Dare.
Glimmer goes first and spins the bottle. it lands in none other than me and I choose dare. I see Katniss Facepalm as Glimmer thinks of my dare.
"Ok I dare you to drink 3 shots of this extra strong vodka and then describe Katniss in 3 words"
Oh God. I take the 3 shots and I immediately feel tipsy.
"Hot, saucy and sexy" are the 3 words that come out of my mouth before I can think about them. Katniss blushes a bright red as I spin the bottle and It lands on Cato.
He chooses dare almost immediately.
"I dare you to run to Principal Abernathys house and when he opens the door hug him and tell him you have always wanted to do that"
Cato glares at me but gets up and runs down the road. We watch as the door opens and lunges at Abernathy before running away again. he rejoins us and we continue to play for another couple of hours. We all begin to get tired around 11 so we play a movie and slowly fall asleep.
