KATNISS POV
"Katniss! Peeta! Prim! Dinner!" Mum cries from the kitchen.
"Damn it" I sigh under my breath. Peeta chuckles and gets up, holding out his hand for me. "We can only get so far in this house" I mutter walking downstairs behind Peeta and Prim. Peeta must of heard me though because he turns around and smirks at me. We enter the dining room to see a mish-mash of food spread across the table.
"I thought seeing as we will be having roast dinner tomorrow we might as well have salad tonight" Mum says taking a seat at the table. Dad walks in and starts to hand out the plates. I sit down and start to grab some food, taking at least one of everything seeing as I'm starving.
"So Peeta what did you do once me and Prim left?" I ask, starting a conversation.
"Well, I got changed and showered then I helped your mum with the shopping for tomorrow, then I helped your dad with something then I Met you" He says.
"Wow you were busy" I say before mum interupts me.
"I didn't manage to get everything so can you and Peeta go later and get the rest?" She asks. She looks a little suspicious but I ignore it.
I sigh but agree.
"Thank you sweetie" she says returning to her food. We all finish dinner and me and Peeta head out to the shops.
"Are you actually annoyed that we didn't get far earlier?" He says getting in the front seat.
"No not really it's just everytime we go there we are interupted." I explain sitting next to him.
"I know but it's what parents are for right?" Peeta says leaning over and kissing my cheek. I smile and turn on the radio. Peeta turns it down and turns to me.
"I don't know what Prim is going to think of her presents tomorrow" He says, his face full of worry.
"Peeta" I smile at him, " She will love anything you give her, even if it was a piece of paper she would adore it forever okay? Don't stress yourself over it" I say taking his hand. He turns right instead of left and I begin to get confused.
"But the store is the other way?" I say pointing to the left.
"I know, we are going some place else" He says, smiling like he has a secret.
"Peeta, where are we going?" I say turning to him and turning off the radio.
"Some place special" Is all he says, turning into a small, empty field and parking the car. He gets out and takes something from the boot, before coming and opening my door. He takes my hand and leads me through the tree's. I try to look at what is in his hands but he hides it in his palm. It must be small if he can do that.
"Okay Kat I need you to shut your eyes" He says stopping.
"Why?" I say shutting my eyes. I feel myself being lifted and I scream a little.
"It's alright I got you, I just don't want you to trip and hurt your wonderful body" Peeta says moving on again. After 5 minutes of walking and me snuggling into Peeta's kneck he stops and puts me down. He hold my hand tight and we walk a little further until he stops again.
"Open your eyes" He says.
I open them slowly and take in the sight before me. Around the tree's he has strung small fairy lights and placed a bench in the centre. Around the bench are little flower petals and on top of it is dessert. I smile and walk over to him. I kiss him straight away and rest my forehead on his.
"This is amazing Peeta, Thank you" I say smiling.
"Anything for you" He says grabbing a blanket and placing it around. He takes 2 bowls out of the small bag he was carrying and sits down. I join him, sitting opposite and he hands me a bowl of brownie with ice cream.
"So what is the reason for this?" I ask, Finishing my brownie.
"Nothing really I just wanted you to know how special you are to me." Peeta takes a small box from his pocket and I get butterflies. I don't know if I want to get married yet but I can't tell him no...He cuts of my train of thought.
"I know what it looks like Kat but I think it's more special than that" He says taking the small ring from his box. "This is a promise ring" He says and I get tears in my eyes. "As long as you have this know that we will one day get married and have our own family" Peeta places the small ring on my finger and the tears spill over, running down my cheeks.
"It's beautiful" I manage to choke out.
"It's okay, don't cry" He comes over to my side of the bench and I slide over onto his lap. He brushes the tears from my face with his hands and I kiss him. He kisses back almost instanly and eventually we both break away for air. I stare into his eyes until he says something which makes my stomach flip over.
"Katniss Everdeen I love you" He says. This was the first time either of us had said this.
"I love you Peeta" I say back instantly, burying my head in his chest breathing in his scent of cinnamon and bread.........

I know it was short but it was just the ending to Part 1 seeing as it would take forever to add it in as one long chapter.
