Chapter 13 - Day 1

PEETA'S POV

I wake up early on Saturday morning. I slowly unrap myself from Katniss and tiptoe into the kitchen. I notice on the oven that the time is 8:30. I grab a bowl of cereal and take my clothes into the bathroom. I eat a spoonful of my cereal and set it down on the side. I jump into the shower and quickly wash my hair. I dress in a plain white t shirt and dark jeans. I eat some more if my cereal and mess up my hair before grabbing my bag if things and heading downstairs. I finish of my cereal and leave the house. I drive as fast as I can to the bakery seeing as it was already 9:00 and my shift started then. I run in through the back door and see my dad beginning to set up the kitchen.
"Dad I'm so sorry-" I begin but he stops me.
"Don't worry about it Peet it's not busy anyways" He says throwing me and apron. I put it on and walk out to the front of the store.
Around 9:30 is when the rush starts and I begin to rush around seeing people cake and bread. Occasionally Myles comes downstairs to help but then leaves when he gets bored. Ryan also turns up with his wife Amy but they go straight through to see dad. I guess I'm alone on this one.

KATNISS POV

I wake up at 9:30 and see the others are still fast asleep. I notice that Peeta isn't here so he must of left to go to work. I have a shower and dress in a some Skinny jeans and a top. I curl the ends of hair into soft curls and grab a banana. I leave the house at around 10:15 and head to the bakery. I park around the back and knock on the back door. Steven opens the door in a flour covered apron.
"Hi Katniss! Your here early" he says with a smile.
"Hi Steven, I came to help Peeta if that's alright?" I ask
"That's fine and I'm sure he could use an extra pair if hands, it's super busy today!" He moves out the way so I can walk in. I set my bags down in the hallway and grab an apron.
I head out the door towards the front of the bakery and see him serving an old lady. I walk up behind and snake my arms around his waist making him jump. The old lady smiles and winks at Peeta making him blush.
"See you later grandma" he says with a smile after handing her a bag of cakes.
"Was that your Grandma?" I ask him curiously.
"Yeh her names Mags but feel free to calm her Grandma too. She also isn't much of a talker." He replies turning to another customer.
"Oh your dad said I give you a hand seeing as your brothers are useless and it's busy" I say standing next to him.
"That's great can you start serving some people at the tables?" he asks me grabbing some cake out of the glass shelfs.
I pick up a notepad and walk over to the tables.
"Hi there what can I get you?" I ask the old man sitting at the table.
"I'll take whatever you recommend" he replies.
"Sure thing" I say walking back to the counter. I pick up a are of cheesebuns and head back to the old man.
"Try these" I say handing him the plate.
He takes a bite from one of them and places it back on the plate. He ponders over the taste before finally saying,
"These are extraordinary! I will take 6 on the go if you will!"
"Great let me get those for you" I fill a small box with cheesebuns and look at the price.
"Those will be £15 please" I say handing him the box.
"Thank you dear" he says handing me the money and taking the bag from me.
The day continues like this and I actually really enjoy myself. Around 1:00 Myles comes downstairs for his shift and Peeta has to carry me out into the kitchen because I don't want to leave.
"What would you lien to do now?" Peeta asks me, setting me down on the counter and taking my apron from me.
"Umm I don't know what do you wanna do?" I ask.
"How about we go see a movie seeing as nobody will get here until about 4:00?" Peeta says taking off his own apron.
"Okay, can we go see that new film Divergent?" I ask sweetly. I have read the books but I have yet to see the film.
"Let's go sunshine" He says taking my hand and walking out to his car.
We drive in sweet silence on the way to the cinema and once we get there Peeta pays for our tickets. I grab some popcorn and we head over to the right screen.

After the film I am tears and Peeta has to carry me out of the cinema. The entire way home I just fangirl to Peeta over how amazing it was and how they got it all right.
We get back go Peetas around 3:30 and we head through the back door. We walk into the kitchen and both Peetas parents are cooking the roast dinner for tonight.
"Smells delicious!" I say to Mrs Mellark.
"Thank you dear" I hear her say as Peeta leads me through to the hallway. I notice a my bags still there.
"Peeta can we go put my bags in your room so they are out of the way?"
"Yeh sure" he says picking them up and walking up stairs. I grab the last bag and follow him. I dump my bags on the floor and he kicks the door shut.

He grabs me and pins me again the wall. I smile as he Kisses me and my hands drift around his chest and abs. I jump and wrap my legs around his waist and he grabs my butt, holding me there. I deepen the kiss and he falls back onto his bed. I sit up just time as Myles burst through the door to tell us people have started to arrive. I blush when I notice the position we are both in. Peeta is lying on his bed whilst I am practically straddling him. I scramble off him giving him one last kiss and walking downstairs.
I walk into the living to find his grandma, Mags, sat on the sofas with his parents.
"Hi nice to meet you I'm Katniss" I say politely holding out my hand. To my surprise She stands up and hugs me whispering in my ear
"Call me Mags"
I smile and agree before greeting Amy and taking a seat next to Peeta. Mire family members arrive and eventual I move into Peetas lap to create more sofa space. At around 5:30 dinners ready and we all move into the doing room to see dinner laid out across the table. I sit in between Peeta and Mags and tuck into my dinner. For pudding we have cake and pie and after that we move back into the living room to exchange some early gifts.
I bought something for Myles and Ryan a well as Amy but Peeta can wait until Christmas Day next week to receive his.
Everybody swaps gifts and to my surprise Peeta gives me one aswell.
"You can save it or open it now if you like" he says shyly. Peeta is never shy so I know this must be special. I decide to wait until Christmas Day and I see him sigh in relief. Everyone else opens there gifts and we play some games. We start of with pictionary where I discover that I can't draw. We then play charades and me and Peeta manage to win. At around 11:00 me and Peeta decide to head of up to his room. we say goodnight to everybody and Peetas parents tell us to leave the door open.

I grab some things from my bag and head into the bathroom. I change into my sleep shorts and tank top and Brush my teeth. I walk back into his room and blush when he is in the middle of taking his top off. I put my things away and jump onto his bed.
"Wanna watch a film?" He asks me getting in next to me.
"Frozen?" I say putting it into the DVD player.
I get back into bed and the film starts. I know all the words so I sing along quietly. I cuddle into Peeta and drift off into a happy sleep ready for the activity that Peetas parents had planned for us tomorrow....
