Chapter 29 - Songs

KATNISS POV

I walk into the music room and immediately feel everybody's eyes on me. They all witnessed my incident with Peeta and are all probably waiting to see my next move. I take my seat at the back and scan the sea of students until I see his blonde mop of hair. I notice the rest of the boys surrounding him but he doesn't seem as upset as he should be.

Effie trots onto the stage and shift my gaze upwards to meet hers.

"Now I think we will do this a little differently today and have the boys first!" she shouts Into her microphone. I watch Peeta and his group make his way to the stage. He takes the microphone from Effie but doesn't start singing. At first I thought he was just nervous to start but then I realise after it's to late. He was scanning the crowd for me. I sit back in my seat hoping that I won't recognise the song he will Sing and that it's not for me. He looks to the left briefly letting Effie know to start the song but his eyes almost immediately find their way back to me. I sigh as I prepare for the worst.

The music begins and it only takes me a minute to realise that he is singing 'Amnesia' by 5sos. I turn to Annie who looks at me with complete sympathy. We both know This song off by heart and it doesn't help when Peeta sounds just like Luke.

By the time that he has finished I have tears in my eyes but I refuse to let them fall. I don't clap along with everyone else knowing his full intentions of making me snap.

"Well boys that was wonderful" Effie exclaims wiping a fake tear from her eye.

"And now for the girls"

I scramble up from my chair and follow the rest of the girls onto the stage. I take the microphone from Effie and since I already know where he is sitting it doesn't take me long to find him. Glimmer signals for the music and I begin the first line.

The song I chose seemed absolutely perfect for my current situation. It was called 'Stuttering' by Fefe Dobson.

I drop the last line of the song and watch as Peeta walks out of the room. I smirk slightly happy that I managed to upset him. Finnick follows him out of the room. I return to my seat and let my mind wander as Effie welcomes the next group. l

"Kat" Johanna says, slapping my shoulder. Hard.

"Ow! what?" I growl at her.

"Ooo Kitty got claws" she sniggers. "lessons over move your butt" she tells me taking ahold of my wrist and pulling me out of my chair. I walk out behind everyone else and into the lunch hall. I sit at the normal table expecting only the girls to sit with me but to my surprise the boys joined us to. Except one.

"Hey Katniss" Finnick says slightly awkwardly. He pauses before saying something else. "look we are all really sorry about not sitting with you earlier Kat, Peeta didn't want to sit here obviously and I couldn't leave him to be alone, he's like my brothe-" I cut him off

"It's fine, I understand and I don't expect any of you to become involved seeing as this is mine and Peetas problem and I don't want to disrupt the group because if this" I say, letting out a breath I didn't know I was holding.

"Where is he anyways?" I ask casually sipping my drink.

"Walked out" Marvel cuts in.

"Why?" Glimmer says sliding into the conversation.

"Didn't wanna be around I guess" Cato answers.

"Well he is going to have to get used to it seeing as spring break is next week" Johanna says with a mouth full of food.

I had forgotten about spring break.

Omg I'm so sorry for the long wait for this really crappy update.

I really have no excuse other than I have been really struggling to think up how I'm going to continue this story. I have a clear idea it's just writing it out is what I'm having a hard time doing.
