PRIMS POV
I'm so excited for this road trip! I can't wait to see all the districts and try out all the food and see the sights, I think as I pack my bag. The only real downside is that I can only take one bag and it's 4:30 in the morning. We have to leave by 5:30 if we want to be at the first stop within a reasonable time. I take my makeup bag and walk into the bathroom. I begin to pick out my favourite items when I hear a knock on the door.
"It's open!" I shout, knowing everybody else is up already.
"Hey Primmy" Katniss says, walking in and taking a seat on the edge of the bath. She is already dressed in some leggings with a jumper and her hair in a high pony tail.
"What's up?" I ask, walking back out having finished with my makeup.
"Just seeing what your taking" she says, sitting on my bed.
"Right.....how's Peeta?" I ask, confused at what she is doing.
"Fine, he is just finishing packing, I was wondering if you were taking straighteners with you?" She asks.
"Yeh are you?" I reply.
"Not if you are, we can share right?" She says walking to the door.
"Yeh whatever!" I shout seeing as she had walked out to her own room.
I start on my clothes and pack a mixture. Some nice clothes for when we eat out, some warm clothes, some summery clothes for the hotter districts and a few bathing suits. Even after folding it all down neatly I still have to sit on my bag to get it to close.
PEETA'S POV
Katniss walks back into the room and my phone vibrates. I pick it up and see it's my mum.
"Hey mum" I say answering the phone.
"Hi Peet just checking everything is ok" she says and I sigh..
"Mum everything is fine okay?" I say, slightly agitated that she thinks I am incapable of doing anything.
"Alright, I think Delly wants to say bye to you" she says and I smile but then frown. Why would she be up at 5:00 in the morning. Then again she is 4 years old.
"PWEETA!" I hear down the phone and I instantly take it away from my ear.
"Hey little one" I say. I look over to Katniss and see she is smiling. She must of heard Delly shouting down the phone.
"What's up" I ask when there is silence down the phone.
"I'm gonna miss you pweeta" she says a little quieter this time.
"It's alright Delly I'll be back before you know it!" I reassure her. "Tell me what you got for Christmas" I ask changing the subject.
" lots of barbies" she says and I chuckle. She does love her barbies.
"Mummy says I have to go now!" She shouts and I quickly say bye before she hangs up.
"She has good intentions" I say returning to Katniss who is finishing packing.
"Can you help me?" She asks trying to zip up her suitcase.
She sits on it whilst I pull the zip and eventually it shuts.
"Jeese Kat what are you taking.?" I ask panting a little.
"Just the things I need" she says laughing.
" Are you guys ready to go!" I hear Mark ( a/n can't remember his name) call from downstairs.
"Yeh!" Kat shouts back. She tries to lift her bag of the bed but I see her struggling and help her.
" thanks Peeta" she says giving me a kiss on the cheek and dragging her case downstairs. I follow behind her and we go outside to see everyone there and waiting. Mark takes out bags and put them In the boot. Both of Katniss parents sit in the front whilst prim sits in the middle row and me and Kat sit at the back together. To get to District 11 it's 6 hours, so I take out my laptop and begin a film. We both decide on The Worlds End and sit back with our headphones in.
Once the film is finished we play yet another one and this times it's pitch perfect, Katniss choice not mine.
I feel my eyelids begin to droop and I rest my head on Kaniss' shoulder as I begin to fall asleep.
KATNISS POV
I feel Peeta rest his head on my shoulder and I look over to see him fast asleep. I smile seeing his peaceful fave and I return to the film. Once it's finished we only have 2 hours left but when I look up I see the scenery has completely changed. I look out the window to see lush green orchards, with a small green apples hanging on them waiting to ripen up. The sky is blue here instead of a murky grey like back in 12. I spend the rest of the 2 hours just staring out of the window until the car finally comes to a stop and dad announces that we are finally here...
