Idiotic Fantasies and Polar Opposites
I ended up hanging out with Collin for the rest of the day. He took me to his Dorm and we played video games, he was super chill and I liked it.
It was great to just take a breather. From the intensity of Lukas and the confusion of Kaiyan. I had an armful of books, Collin had given me by the time I was walking across the campus that night.
The walkways were dark because once again, the lights had hadn't been fixed. I was walking past the still busy coffee shop when my phone rang, making me jump.
I rearranged myself so I could grab it. "Hello?" I answered, shifting my body.
"Hey, its me, we need to talk" Kaiyan's voice replied back at me.
I gritted my teeth, angry that I didn't check the caller ID. "I'm a little busy right now, can I call you back?" I asked, shifting again.
"Are you going to call?" He asked.
"Of course" I replied, rolling my eyes.
"Okay" was all he said before hanging up.
I shoved my phone back into my pocket and walked into my Dorm house. I couldn't believe he'd call me. I trudged up the stairs only to stop as I spotted Kaiyan at my door. He looked like he was about to knock and he did. He took a deep breath, waiting for the door to open but it didn't because no one was home. I stepped up into my hallway and he turned his head, looking at me.
Kaiyan clasped his hand together and fiddled his fingers. "I stayed so I could apologise" he said.
I shifted my books, trying to reach for my key. Suddenly the weight disappeared when Kaiyan took the books from my arms. I kept my gaze down and I reached into my bag to grab my keys. "Please say something" Kaiyan begged.
"What do you want me to say?" I asked, opening the door and walking in.
He followed me with the books. "Say you hate me and you never want to see me again if you have to but don't be silent" he said, placing my books on the bench.
"You lied to me" I said, turning around to face him.
I crossed my arms, waiting for his excuse. "I was confused, jealous of Lukas and I just needed some time alone" Kaiyan said, his voice turning whiny.
"Jealous of Lukas?" I asked, bewildered.
I tried not to think about the kiss we had shared that very day and I turned my back on him so he wouldn't see my blush. "I know he wants you, have you seen the way he looks at you? He has this idiotic fantasy with you" Kaiyan replied.
I whirled around. "So having a fantasy about me is idiotic?" I exclaimed.
Kaiyan sighed. "No that's not what I meant, did you hear anything I said, its like he's got a mild obsession over you" he replied.
I froze.
"You make me feel electrified especially when you're in the room, you make me feel heavy and locked to the earth until you smile then I'm up in the air, you make me want you in different ways each day and it physically hurts me when I see you smile at people who aren't me"
Kaiyan stepped forward. "He's told you hasn't he?" He asked, concern on his face.
"He told you how you make him feel, that's how he does it, cooks them food and then woo's them with his house" he said, worry crossing his face.
It was like a pang to my heart. I didn't want to believe them, Kaiyan could be lying. I needed to speak to Lukas. I needed to know the truth. I wasn't going to spend my whole college life wondering Kaiyan or Lukas.
