Surprises and School Rumours

"How's your day?" I asked Eloise as we sat down for lunch.

She flopped her juice on the table and sighed. "Three more exams.. three!" she exclaimed, sitting down and glaring at everyone who passed.

I laughed. "I don't have any exams but I have tons of assignments to do, did you know for English we have to write a 2,000 word essay on absolute bullshit?" I asked, rolling my eyes.

"Swap classes?" Eloise asked.

I laughed again. "Na, I kind of like my assignments" I replied.

"Hello ladies" a British voice interrupted us.

We both looked up to see a smiling Collin. He slid into the seat next to me. "How can you be so cheerful, you're in most of my classes that have exams" Eloise said.

"I love exams, always have" Collin replied.

The shock and disgust that filled Eloise's fade, made me laugh again. Collin joined in. "Uh oh" Eloise suddenly said, looking over my shoulder.

I turned my head to look over my shoulder to spot Lukas walking into the room. His eyes darted across the crowds before seeing me. I blushed and looked down, turning back to my lunch. "Does he always look for you?" Eloise asked, sounding upset.

I shot Eloise a pity look, Connor, her boyfriend and herself had been fighting all day and he was currently ignoring her. Eloise turned her head to look at her boyfriend but he was laughing with his friends. I turned my head to look at Lukas again, who was making his way towards me. We were still just friends but we still knew what had almost happened last night.

So you could imagine my surprise when Lukas reached me and he tapped my shoulder. I turned around while people began to look at us. "Hey" I said, giving him a small smile.

I could feel both Eloise's and Collin's eyes on us. "Hey" he said, leaning down.

Surprise filled me and I jerked back but it didn't stop Lukas from kissing me. Gasps filled the room and I heard them come from Collin and Eloise as well. Lukas pulled away and sat down beside me.

What was he playing at?

People were staring at us but I just faced the table again. Eloise's eyes were wide and Collin had looked away at some point. "Has anyone done the exam for History?" Lukas asked, acting like he hadn't just kissed me in front of the entire college.

To be quite honest, I didn't even know he did History. There was still a lot I didn't know about Lukas. "Collin and I just did it" Eloise said, speaking up.

Normally Eloise would glare at Lukas bit she was softening up. Maybe because she realised he wasn't holding a hand to my throat anymore. Which made me consider if I was a bloody idiot. "I've got it next, what am I too expect?" Lukas asked, looking at Eloise hopeful.

"Torture" Collin replied.

Eloise pointed at Collin and nodded. Lukas's eyes slid to my European friend, studying him. "Anyway, I have assignments so I'm going to head to the library" I said, staring to pack away my lunch.

Lukas looked at me. "Mind if I join? I should hit the History books before my exam" he said, sounding sincere.

But after just kissing me, I wasn't so sure.
I shrugged and stood, he followed. "I'll see you at the Dorm and bye Collin, see you around" I said, talking to both of my very good friends.

They said goodbye and Lukas followed me out of the Cafeteria. "What was that about?" I asked as we walked.

"About the Library? I really do have to study" Lukas said, glancing at some girls that waved at him.
