Wendy went to bed. She calmed down. But she was still in shock. She fell asleep, eventually.

Wendy sat on a bench in the park. She looked at the little child running wobbly on the playground. It's blond curls bouncing as it moved. Wendy couldn't help but smile when she saw it play, being happy looking in wonder at a bird, or a dog. It's arm going up and down in excitement.
"Hello, love." A voice said softly. Wendy turned her head, looking at Tom. "Hello, handsome." She smiled. He kissed her soft on the lips. "How's our little wonder doing?" He asked turning his head, looking at the chubby child. "Just wonderful." She said softly. He gave her a quick kiss on the forehead and went to the child. "Who wants to be a superhero?!" Tom said picking up the child. It shrieked when it's daddy came to play. Wendy sat there watching. Completely happy and contented.

Wendy woke up sobbing. "God." She said softly while putting her hands on her belly. "You really are in there, are you little baby? And I wanted to take things slow with your daddy. I have to tell him about you. But can you be a little secret for awhile?" She got up and got dressed. It' was still early, but she couldn't sleep anymore.

She went downstairs. Sat herself at her piano and started to play softly, singing. "Alicia keys if i ain't got you." She got lost in the song. The door opened but she didn't hear it. When she finished the song. Two sets off eyes where looking at her. One in utter amazement, the other soft, Francis knew she would be okay.

Tom clapped and whistled. Francis looked happy and relaxed. He was so worried about her after her breakdown at the doctor. He came to see her, running into Tom who want to come with. "Hi stranger." Tom couldn't help staring at her. Wendy snapped out of her 'trance' looking quite shocked seeing Tom standing there. She also noticed her heart skipped a beat. That didn't help. "Hi" She managed to say. A little smile on her face, feeling her face turn red. "How are you Tom?" She asked "I'm fine, I missed you." He said while looking in her brown eyes.

"What you're doing here?" Looking from Tom to Francis and back. "I came to talk about the last part of work, before the big day. I run into Tom he wanted to come with." She relaxed, Tom didn't know. "I haven't heard you in days, I got worried." Tom said looking upset. "I was busy, making you chocolate, I 'm sorry." Tom smiled

"Well I'm here now, did you had breakfast?" Tom walked to the kitchen, starting to make them breakfast. "So" Tom said after a long, rather heavy silence. "How are you?" She looked up "I'm fine, just busy with work. I thought about new flavour combinations." "Did you miss me?" He asked looking puppy eyed. She laughed "That doesn't work on me Tom, I'm sorry." "What? no one can resist my puppy eyes!" He laughed looking chocked. "But yes, I missed you." That made Tom smile showing a perfect, let your heart melt smile and he had little twinkles in his eyes. "You play beautifully, Wendy and you are a great singer." "Thank you." She sounded sad. She couldn't help it. Tom was so kind and sincere. But she couldn't be honest with him, not yet. " Are you alright, Wendy?" "Yes why?" Tom looked worried. "Well you ignored my last three calls and text and you're really not that talkative now. Did I do something wrong?" He whispered the last part looking hurt and uncertain. "No" She said reaching out to take his hand. "No of course not, Like I said I'm just busy with work. I want it to be perfect. I can be a bit, unsocial when I focus on my work, I'm sorry."

"We get that you're sorry little bean." "What do you mean Teddy?" She didn't understand "You told Tom that you're sorry at least three times already!" He had to laugh. It was a long time since Francis saw Wendy like this. She really cared about him.

"She must be dying inside. Sitting at this table with Tom, trying to act normal. " He thought. She still has a lot to process before she can tell him. But she really cares about him and that was at that moment more than enough for Francis.

"We should get going Wendy." Francis stood up. "Yes we should." She followed Francis example. "Oh." Tom looked a little lost. "I'm sorry Tom..." Francis rolled his eyes. "What?!" She exclaimed slapping Francis on his arm. "I really am!" They laughed. Wendy turned to Tom "After the event I will have more time." "Then we can go get some drinks?" His eyes brightened, a grin formed on his face. "Sure" She nodded. "Drinks sound good." They said goodbye giving each other a warm hug.

When they arrived at work Francis and Wendy started to lay the last hand on the chocolates. They had to make the evening memorable. It would be the last thing the guest would eat so it had to be good, prefect even. "You tell him after?" Francis said, his back turned at Wendy while he was putting chocolate in the fridge to set. Wendy sighed "I'll tell him when I'm ready." "You'll never be truly ready Wendy." He closed the fridge."I know." "So what you'll leave? Go back to Bruges?" He sounded frustrated.

"Where is this coming from?" "You care, Wendy! You care about him. I haven't seen you like this in years. Please tell him." He looked angry. Wendy couldn't help but smile. Francis felt with her, he was like an extension of her. That's why Wendy missed him so much. "I'll tell him before the baby is born." She laughed. She didn't know why. "I missed you to you know Teddy? I hated when you left. But I knew you made the right choice by leaving." She hugged him. "Know let me choose."

The charity dinner was approaching fats. Wendy felt more and more tired every day. She was happy when the last chocolate was ready. She could relax. If she wanted she could go to the dinner, sit in the kitchen and eat Francis's delicious extravagant food.

She sat on Francis couch with a plate of steamy risotto on her lap. Ready to watch a movie. Francis was on the phone, taking the call in the other room. Wendy heard him curse. She looked up but din't went to see what's going on. A couple of minutes later he came into the living room rubbing his hands over his face. "Wendy." He sighs heavy. "How much do you like deboning fish?"
