"My, you're glowing!" Luisa exclaims for the umpteenth time as you sit and smile like an idiot on her sofa. "I just can't believe you're already eight months along!"
"Oh, stop it," you chuckle playfully. "You knew this day would come,"
Luisa rolls her eyes playfully at you and hands you a glass of water as she sits down opposite you.
You and Michael had been married for a year now and the two of you were lucky enough to be blessed with your first child.
Obviously, you had Luisa in mind for the baby's godmother - that was for sure.
"I just..." she continues to look at you in disbelief. "It seems like it was just yesterday when you'd confessed to me that you had feelings for Michael and now..." she giggles softly. "You're going to have a baby!"
"Yes Luisa," you roll your eyes playfully. "I'm quite aware of that,"
"But you're so young. I mean....are you even able to have a baby at twenty one?" she raises an eyebrow and you frown.
"Oh come on....." you scoff. "You didn't say anything about my age when I got married," you raise an eyebrow back at her.
"Okay," she holds her hands up in defeat. "As long as your body can handle it, I'm fine," she nods slowly.
You chuckle and roll your eyes once again and sip your water slowly.
Yes, you had been a sickly individual for most of your life and various doctors you'd visited had advised you to wait until you were over twenty five to have kids because of your body's fragile inner system. It may not have seemed like it from the outer appearance but your immune system was extremely delicate and had to be taken care of attentively.
Nevertheless, you got pregnant and were extremely happy when you found out. You honestly didn't care about what the doctors had told you because you believed that anything was possible with enough belief.
Michael, of course, had been quite concerned about your condition but you'd convinced him that everything was fine. Your symptoms were just like any other pregnant woman so there really wasn't anything to worry about.
Now, here you were, as happy and as pregnant as ever.
"Of course it can," you giggle and sip your water again. "Oh, by the way, I have to go down to the mall today....will you be able to come with me?" you ask her softly.
Luisa thinks for a moment before frowning deeply. "What time will you be going?" she inquires.
You glance at your elegant wrist watch and sigh. "Actually, right about now," you shrug and look back up at her.
She grimaces and sighs. "I'm sorry...I won't be able to come. My mom's coming over in half an hour," she looks at you apologetically. "Why don't you wait until my mom leaves and then we'll go together?" she suggests.
You frown and chuckle a little. "I won't be able to. I have to go see Michael after I go to the mall. He's rehearsing," you smile shyly.
"Ah..." Luisa smiles slyly. "I see," she wiggles her eyebrows. "Well.....will you be fine?" she quizzes with a sudden concerned expression. "On your own?"
"Yeah yeah!" you giggle as you stand up. "I'll be fine Luisa. I'm pregnant, not an invalid," you roll your eyes playfully and she scoffs.
"Whatever, miss-know-it-all," she mutters all in one breath and you giggle, making your way to the door.
"Shut up," you tease as she opens the door for you. You hug her and smile. "Thanks for having me over though,"
She hugs you back tightly before you pull away. "Anything for my best friend," she giggles and you bid her goodbye one last time before leaving her house for the mall.
