Five years later.

"Mommy!" your four year old daughter, Adeia, runs up to you and you chuckle as you lift her up.

"Yes baby?" you rub your nose against hers as she giggles.

"Park!" she exclaims and you laugh knowing where she wants to go.

"Okay baby...but first you have to go ask Uncle Mark okay?" you bend down to her level and she nods as she runs up the stairs to find Mark.

You sigh in delight as you watch your brown haired angel disappear up the stairs.

She's so beautiful. You think to yourself.

You begin wipe the kitchen table and proceed to store away the utensils as you hear Adeia squeal happily.

Mark must've said yes. You chuckle, your inward thoughts bringing you some sort of amusement.

You continue to tidy up the kitchen before you suddenly become aware that the television is on. You walk toward the television box with the intention to turn it off when something catches your attention. You look at the screen intently and gasp lightly at what the news reporter is saying.

"Michael Jackson weds Lisa Marie Presley."

You find yourself staring at the snippet of their private union which plays briefly before switching back to the news room scene. Blinking back a few unwelcome tears, shake your head - trying to shake off what you'd just seen and heard.

It didn't matter to you anymore. All that mattered in your life now was Adeia.

Or at least, that's what you kept telling yourself.

"Mommy! We're ready!" Adeia squeals as you turn around to meet your bright eyed angel in Mark's arms.

"Okay," you chuckle. "Let me just go freshen up," you smile.

"Mommy's already beautiful right Adeia? She doesn't need to freshen up," Mark teases and you wave him off as you rush upstairs to brush your hair.

You leave your hair open, clipping only a small section of it at the back and spray some perfume. You brush your hands over your dress a few times to smooth it out then grab your coat and run down to Mark and Adeia.

"Right! Let's go have some fun!" you giggle as the three of you exit the house.

You.

"Mommy! Look what I can do!" Adeia squeals as she attempts a hand stand with Mark supporting her.

I giggle and shake my head at her cuteness. "Good job baby girl!" I applaud and she squeals.

I stare in admiration as I see Mark playing with Adeia. I sigh as I remember how I'd found out I was pregnant a week after I had left Michael. Michael had persistently tried to contact me three months after I'd left but gave up once he realized that his attempts were futile. The last time we were in any sort of contact was when I signed the divorce papers. I was heartbroken but I reminded myself that I was the one who left - not him. Adeia was his and he didn't even know. I began to reflect on my decisions...wondering if keeping Adeia from him was a good idea. Nevertheless, I'd never let her call anyone 'daddy'. Not even Mark. Mark was a good friend of mine and we'd been great friends for over five years. He'd offered to be a father figure toward Adeia and I'd agreed...on the condition that she would only address him as 'Uncle Mark'. The idea had worked and we haven't looked back since. Of course, Mark has developed feelings for me but I don't think I'm ready to jump into a new relationship as yet; I mean...I still love Michael and I hate that. It doesn't matter anyway..... besides, I've been celibate since I gave birth to Adeia so there's no doubt about my loyalty. Michael, on the other hand...
