Chapter 6

Y/N chewed down on her lip anxiously after knocking at Pegasus's door, which have been closed for already ten days with Pegasus locked inside.

Pegasus hasn't come out of her room since the time she cried in front of Y/N.

And that led to everybody being worried about her, especially her father and Evelyn.

A few minutes passed before a voice said in a weak tone,

" Who is it?"

Y/N snapped out of her long thoughts, then focused her gaze at the white door decorated with real flowers in front of her.

" It's... Y/N," she replied nervously.

Another few minutes passed again, before the door creaked open a little to reveal only half of Pegasus's face.

" You don't wanna see me right now, in this condition. And probably the others sent you here to make me come out of my room," Pegasus said with a hoarse voice... since she hasn't spoken to anybody for a long time.

" No!" Y/N exclaimed a little too quickly, afraid that Pegasus might close the door back, then realised she had probably just shouted too loud. " I mean... they didn't sent me to get you. I wanted to come and see you myself... please, don't shut the door," she added more calmly.

Pegasus went silent for a few seconds staring at Y/N's concerned face. She finally blew a defeated sigh before opening the door wider so Y/N could go in.

" Come in," she said.

" You sure? I mean... you—"

" Quick, before I change my mind and slam this door in your face," Pegasus interrupted Y/N.

Y/N quickly stepped inside the room despite Pegasus's harsh words and Pegasus closed the door behind her.

" Gee, you didn't have to be so harsh." Y/N said, before looking at Pegasus up and down.

Pegasus doesn't looked so bad, only her hair was a mess and her eyes were slightly red.

The ghost girl sighed and her features immediately softened.

" I'm sorry I said that... don't look up and down at me!" Pegasus exclaimed.

Y/N laughed and walked towards Pegasus's bed before sitting down on it. She patted at the space beside her and motioned for Pegasus to sit.

" Huh, it's my room okay?! I can sit or stand, however I want." Pegasus said but went to sit beside Y/N anyway. " So... what do ya want to know?"

" It's not what I want to know, it's what I want. And I want you to go out of this room and be your-cheery-tough-self. I miss that Peggie," Y/N said gently.

Pegasus's hard, cold stare then seemed to softened more as her mouth opened to speak.

" Oh... but... it's not that easy. I-I d-don't feel l-like being the o-old m-me," she stuttered. " For the time being."

Y/N put a hand on her shoulder and smiled kindly.

" Look, I may not know what you're being so upset about. And I don't think I wanna know. But please, at least try, we already lose five of our best friends... and I don't think I wanna lose you too," she said.

" You don't know? Well, I guess it's good. You shouldn't know... but... what if... I explode and did something I'll regret? The only thing I can let you know about the 'person' is she's the one who has ruined my life. She's a part of my life... and you know why I feel so angry? Because I can't throw her away as easily as I wish." Pegasus said, gritting her teeth on the last part.

Y/N pursed her lips and stared at the girl with short silvery white hair.

Pegasus had cut off her long, long hair until it was only slightly past her shoulder.

Then Y/N looked firmly into her silvery eyes.

" Peggie, at least this once... come out and see everyone, then you can come back to this room. What do you say?" Y/N suggested, standing up and offering a hand.

Pegasus looked up at her for a while before nodding and took Y/N's out-reached hand.

Y/N smiled at her then and she returned it with a genuine one.

" That's my Peggie." Y/N stated and they both giggled.

As the two girls reached the hall where everyone was waiting with concerned looks, Pegasus turned to Y/N with a frown.

" You told me they didn't sent you," she said.

" Well, they didn't. They just said they wanted to wait for you in case you come out of your room. So I thought I might make you come out." Y/N said with a sheepish smile while Pegasus glared at her. " But anyways, it's too late to turn back around... they already know you're here." she finished.

And as if on cue, everyone turned their attention towards the two girls.

" Pegasus?" Manny asked.

" Hi, dad." she replied sheepishly with a small wave.

Manny came to hug his daughter then, his heart feeling relieved. When he pulled away, he looked down at his daughter.

" We'll think about it, alright?" he asked with a smile.

Pegasus nodded with her own small smile.

Then Manny turned to Y/N.

" Anyway, Y/N... how is it?" He asked.

Y/N clasped her hands.

" I hope it's like the way I imagined it to be," she replied.

Pegasus frowned and raised an eyebrow.

" Did I miss something?" she asked, looking back and forth between her father and friend.

" Sort of," Y/N answered.
