Chapter 20

Tasha turned to Evelyn and their eyes met.

" Hello, dear sister." Tasha greeted with a fake smile.

Evelyn glared in return.

" Hello, ungrateful sister." she replied through gritted teeth.

" I thought you're already dead." Y/N deadpanned casually. Everyone tried to hold their laughs at the blunt question and turned to stare at Y/N. Y/N just looked around her and shrugged. " What? I really thought she's dead. She's been gone for so long." she stated.

Tasha stomped furiously towards Y/N before crossing her arms across her chest.

" So, you look different," she said finally.

" Oh, don't start this appearance insults with me again but, uh... so do you." Y/N replied simply, crossing her arms too.

" And you look so pink," Tasha tried again.

" I just told you not to do it? But well, you look so inappropriate," Y/N shot back.

Tasha's eyes flared with anger.

" What! I'm beautiful in this dress, okay?!" she declared.

" That's hardly a dress. It's like you tied yourself in strips of fabric. Did you actually invented this so called dress while you're drunk or something? It seems... strappy," Y/N commented.

" You're getting on my nerve, Pinky," Tasha warned.

" So don't come to me, Strappy," Y/N answered.

By then, everyone had tried to hold on their laughter more harder, some already giggled, even Jack Dark.

Tasha's face flushed, and turned more redder when she saw Jack Dark trying not to laugh.

" Darky! Why are you laughing, you idiot?!" she shouted at him.

" Whoa... is he your boyfriend? Since you called him a cheesy name," Y/N asked. " And I thought you would have grown old by now. Aren't you a mortal? You should've been... what? Thirty five or something." she added.

" Well, for your info, I turned immortal too." Tasha said with a triumphant smile.

" YOU WHAT?!" everybody except Jack Dark exclaimed.

" How?" Evelyn asked.

" Oh, you know. I was drinking some water from a small pool... and Darky here saw me and told me that the water changed somebody from a mortal to an immortal. That's how we met," Tasha told them all.

" Stop calling me Darky. I hate that name. Oh, and Princess Y/N, she's not my... whatever you just think she is. Just... no. I can tell she's still into Frost here." Jack Dark said and nudged Jack.

" You're still into me? Oh, come on!" Jack exclaimed.

Tasha only batted her eyelashes at him.

" This is something... an immortal pool?" Y/N asked nobody in particular, ignoring Jack's grimace from seeing Tasha batting her eyelashes at him.

" Well, not really. It's called the Mortian Pool. If a mortal drinks the water, they will change into an immortal. But us immortals should not touch the water. If we do, it will change us into a mortal... and it's more worse if you've been in a battle because when you're changed into a mortal, all the scars and pains will come to you five times the pain when you're immortal," Pegasus said. " And that pool should've been forbidden. The locked ghosts were the ones to take care of the pool and make sure no one drinks it... where did they all go?" she added. Then she turned sharply at Jack Dark. " Your mother was the one who freed the ghosts right?" she asked.

Jack Dark's eyes widened as he shook his head.

" I don't even know about the ghosts being freed. She's your mother too, Pegasus. And speaking of ghosts, you look like one," he told her.

Pegasus sighed.

" Because I am one," she said.

" What? How?" Jack Dark asked.

" Evelyn killed me." Pegasus sighed again.

He gasped and glared at Evelyn.

" How dare you killed my sister?! You should be banished from here! Get—" but before he could finish, Pegasus screamed, making everyone froze and turned to her.

" Stop it! When I died, you weren't even there during my funeral! And Evelyn killing me had been hundreds of years ago! Her dark side had been erased twenty years ago and she's become the sister I only have up until now. She's became a family member of mine apart from dad. And she's been there for me when I need somebody. I couldn't have asked for a better sister. While you, you only ruin my life! Just like m— your mother! Leaving me alone. I didn't even know who's my father that time! Only when I first met him did I know who's my father. When I first became the Light of the Chosens. And that was two hundred years after you left," Pegasus ranted. " Now, what do you have to say?!" she added and then stormed away.

" Pegasus!" Evelyn called out and ran after her while Jack Dark could just gaped with guilt.

" I've... I've been a bad brother." Jack Dark slowly said and he turned away from them all and walked out of the academy.

" Wait," Manny called out.

Jack Dark turned around slowly and waited for what Manny has to say... probably he wanted to say that Jack Dark should not come forever, as a warning.

That he's forbidden to step a foot in the—

" We may need your help," Manny said.

Jack Dark looked surprised for a while.

" Ugh, even though I would love sitting here looking at Frosty's pretty face, I'm outta here. Toodles!" Tasha said and walked out of the academy past Jack Dark and disappeared.

Jack made a relief face.

" Why do you need my help? You know me, I never help. I only ruin people's lives... see, even my stepsister said I ruined her life," Jack Dark answered Manny.

" Can you help us, Jack Dark?" Manny asked, ignoring his words.

" I..." Jack Dark trailed.

" We do need your help," Manny tried.

" I... uh... fine. Okay. I'll help. I don't want people to see me as a bad guy anyway, not really." Jack Dark gave in as he walked back inside and stood in front of Manny.

" What can I do?" he asked.

Manny smiled.

" Thank you for accepting. First, we need to have Hazelia here. Jack, can you find her?" Manny asked.

Jack nodded.

" I'm on it." he said and flew away with his staff.

" I bet she'll call me something like freak, creep, psycho, lunatic... and what more," Jack Dark said to himself.

Everyone laughed then.
