The four of them sat in silence listening to the honking of the cars waiting in line to cross. Josephine sat in between Richie and Kate. She noticed the two siblings having a silent conversation with themselves before Kate spoke up, "Can I ask you something?"
Richie's and Josephine's attention went to her waiting her her to continue. "That stuff that you said at the pool, how did you know all of that?"
Understanding that Kate's question had nothing to do with her, she tuned out their conversation narrowing her eyes at Scott. He didn't notice her stare but she did notice that he was planning something.
"Josephine," Kate got the girl's attention back, "We're praying, close your eyes."
Not having the energy to protest, she followed the girl's order, closing her eyes after seeing Richie doing it. She continued her little prayer until there was a gun clicking.
Josephine eyes snapped open seeing that Scott had a gun against Richie's head. Following her quick reflexes, Josephine grabbed the pistol that was tucked away in Richie's pants and aimed it at the young boy.
"Seth," Both Richie and Josephine called getting the eldest brother's attention.
"Kate, get the gun from her," Scott instructed her sister who froze instead. Josephine noticed Seth marching to the back of the R.V.
"Don't do it Kate, you're not like them." Richie spoke calmly to the young girl.
"Just do it!" Scott yelled at his sister not removing the gun from Richie.
As Seth put his gun against Scott's head, Josephine moved her gun over to Kate who looked even more frightened now.
"I'll put one in your pretty head before you can even reach for it, sweetheart," Josephine said to Kate.
"As for you," Seth spoke to Scott, "you take that gun off of my brother before the ounce of forgiveness that I have on reserve goes away-"
Josephine looked at the brother seeing Jacob marching towards him, crowbar in hand. "Seth!" She called.
Seth turned around aiming the gun at the old man, "Back up!" Josephine aimed her gun back at the teenage boy as Seth walked towards Jacob making him step back from the scene.
"Get in the driver's seat! Drive!" Seth yelled at Jacob angrily once he dropped the crowbar to the ground. Josephine didn't think she'd ever heard him yell so angrily before.
Seth's gun returned pointed at Scott's head. "I told you, Seth! We should just shoot him! Just shoot this kid in the head!" Richie yells at his brother.
"Richie, relax I got this," Seth assured his brother, "Hey, Padre, why don't you talk some sense into your son before I have to take my brother advice."
"Son, put the gun down!" Jacob yelled from the front.
"Dad, this is bullshit!" Scott yelled back at his father.
