"Look at you. So blinded by your own greed, and now you wanna save me? You're weak. You're both so weak. I gave you everything. I gave you all the love that I could possibly give. And for what? There's no more love left, Richard. I hope you burn in hell."
Kate's voice echoed through Josephine's brain as she watched Santanico kneel down in front of the ash of Malvado. Seth finally gave up on trying to get anything out of Josephine since she would only shake her head.
Satanico stared down at the ash, "He's gone."
"And, so are we," Seth said to Santanico, "We're gonna find that prick, Greely and get back what's ours."
Tears streamed down Santanico's cheeks as she stared at the ground, memorized by the ash. Seth noticed how out of it she was acting and he didn't need another woman acting like it was the end of the world, "Hey. You did it. He's history, alright? Enjoy it while you can. After a while you're gonna realize you're still pissed. Payback's funny that way."
Seth sighed turning back to the blonde girl in tears and cradling herself on the floor, he bent down to the floor picking the girl up, "C'mon, Josie. You're gonna be okay."
He began walking out of the warehouse caring Josephine bridal style, leaving it all behind but Santanico calling his name stopped him.
"What now?" He turned back to her slightly annoyed. He wanted this night to be over.
"There's a reason she's acting like that," Santanico said looking at Josephine staring into complete nothingness.
"It's not over," Josephine mumbled, "not even close."
"It's over for us," Seth said putting her to the ground when she asked him to. He grabbed her hand and dragged her towards the exit in a hurry worried that Santanico would find someway to pull them back in.
"Seth." Santanico called his name again following them as they re-entered Jacknife Jed's.
Seth stopped walking turning to the dark haired girl, "Yeah?"
"Why did you two help me?" Santanico asked.
"You got in her head, remember?" Seth asked raising his tone at her, "As if her powers hadn't put her brain through enough, you had to pull her back into this."
"Seth, I wanted to help," Josephine spoke up and looked at Santanico, "Girl's look out for each other. You helped me figure out what I can do. Bringing you the briefcase was the least I could do."
"Well, because she had to help you, all our money is gone and my goddamned brother sold us out. I didn't have to follow her but I don't know, it seemed like the right thing to do." Seth spoke up still a bit annoyed. The tone wasn't really directed at Santanico but more towards how the night was going.
"You always do the right thing?" Santanico asked the man and narrowed her eyes at him.
"There's 33 million right things waiting out there for my girl and me. So, if you'll excuse us." Seth said grabbing Josephine's hand and turning around.
