Josephine turned over in the bed so she was facing Seth. His eyes were closed but Josephine knew that he wasn't asleep. When it came to night like these, where something horrible had just happened, Seth would never fall asleep. The night and the events that took place had kicked them in the ass far too many times. They were losing and this was not a fight to be lost.
She studied his features as she waited for him to notice her stare. As she predicted, it didn't take him long to open his eyes and find her blue one's in the moonlight.
"Something you need, sweetheart?" Seth asked. His voice was deep and sounded tired.
Josephine stayed silent, trying to figure out why she needed to talk to him at this moment. "What did she say to you? You've been acting weird all night." Josephine finally asked.
"Everything she said to me was lies. She wanted to get to me by saying shitty things about me and the people in my life but she's wrong." Seth said, shaking his head and avoiding eye contact with the girl.
"But she got what she wanted. She got Margaret and Billie, Seth. She's winning. She's been one step ahead of us this whole time." Josephine pointed out.
"And we'll figure something out to get back at her, Josie. We will win this. She is not taking over the world, not today, not ever." Seth said. The two fell silent but Seth spoke up again, "You're here for me, right? Not for money or anything like that?"
Josephine was about to start yelling at him for assuming she was the materialistic type, but then she remembered who he was with. Amaru must have said something about her only being here to steal off of him. "Seth, you're my forever. I'm here for you, always."
"Then, marry me." Seth said placing his hand on her cheek and running his fingers through strands of her hair.
Josephine smiled at the man. She was surprised, of course, but she was happy. "Took you long enough."
The two leaned in and placed a sweet kiss on each others lips before cuddling close to each other.
"So, how does this work, huh? Richie gonna officiate us, and then be your best man or something? Freddie can be my maid of honor - better yet, I'll have Tanner. He'd really love that," Josephine said as she played with his large hand with her small one.
"Oh, shut up, Josie," Seth said with a chuckle. The two fell back into the comfortable silence once again.
"Seth, I got to her before she got away. I burned her with my mind. If I grow stronger, imagine what else I could do." Josephine spoke up looking back on the events that happened.
"Josephine, no. It's too dangerous. We will figure it out so that we don't have to risk that." Seth said shaking his head.
"What if it is the only way? I make her more powerful if I side with her which means I'm powerful too. And I think if I really just focus, I can get to her. I can get her out of Kate." Josephine said, piecing everything together as the words splured out of her mouth.
