Kate found something to keep the door closed from the banging flesh-eating creatures. "You can thank me later." Tanner said to Kate.

Josephine narrowed his eyes at the man knowing that he was willing to leave all of them. He only cared about himself. Kate, who was also angry at the man, kneed him in the crotch causing him to groan in pain. Josephine smiled at the girl, proud.

Josephine made her way over to Seth who found another door in the room that lead to what looked like a fully stocked pantry. It wasn't stocked with food though, it was filled with ancient things stuffed in boxes.

"Jesus, they got stuff here that goes back who know how long," Seth commented looking at the racks full of boxes. As he neared the end of the rack, Josephine saw him get knocked back by a man holding a rifle at all of them.

"Welcome to the party, baby." The dark man announced as Seth stumbled back holding his nose. He stumbled right into Josephine.

Josephine turned Seth around looking at his face making sure it was all right. He turned back around to the unknown man after flashing the girl a smile letting her know that he was okay. "You want to put down the deathstick, Roadblock?"

"Do I have a smile on my face? Does it look like I'm happy to see you?" The buff man asked not putting down the gun.

Josephine stepped forward crossing her arms, whereas, Jacob and Kate had their hands up. "Newsflash, we're friendlies." Josephine said to the man, "We're not those freaks."

The man had a fake smile on his face, "I want you outta here. Go back the way you came."

"There is nothing but death and misery that way. I am not going back there no matter how close you come to me with that thing, big guy. I ain't leaving." Josephine spoke sternly at the man.

"What do you think is at the other end of this? Pretty sure this can kill a little girl like you in seconds." The man said looking down at his riffle.

Josephine was about to say something but Kate stepped in front of her, "Mister, my brother is lost down here and we're trying to find him."

"You never will." The man replied back, "Nothing's going to survive down here."

"You survived," Kate and Josephine said at the same time.

The man looked at the two girls, lost for words as Kate continued, "How long have you been down here?"

"A month. A year. Time's like a ribbon." He said his voice was a lot more calmer as he spoke to Kate, "It finds a way of knotting itself into a bow."

"Okay buddy," Seth spoke up pushing past the two girls, "We gotta get at this stuff. Okay? We gotta find a way to defend ourselves. You understand?"

"I'm a bad judge of character," The man's stern voice was back as he spoke to Seth, "Either you go back the way you came or you play the wheel of misfortune like everybody else." The man hit the desk that was next to him and out popped open a drawer. On top of the wood was a cut-out piece of cardboard cut in the shape of a circle and a fork attached to the middle. Written on the circle were a bunch of options. All were bad expect for one that was labeled shopping spree. The rest were either get fed to the creatures, get shot, go back the way we came. There were more but they all ended the same way; death.
