Josephine stared down at her phone as the fan blew her hair out of her face. She was bored out of her mind and the dreadful heat from the liquor store wasn't helping her at all.

In walked two men both dressed in suits. She glanced up at the men from behind the counter but then went back to her phone. She noticed that Pete also took notice of the men and the two of them were both listening in on their quiet conversation.

"Okay," The darker toned one claps his hands and rubs them together, "Let's get some snacks. Drinks for the road. Some of those little sour worm things you like."

He was about to continue but the other one spoke up, "I don't like sour worms anymore."

"What?" The tan one asked looking at the other man in shock. Josephine caught herself smiling as she listened in.

"It clouds my thinking," He replied back. Josephine looked back up at the two men to notice one of them had big glasses but it suited him, she thought.

"Well," The tan one glanced fairly quickly back at Pete and Josephine before pulling the man closer towards him, "get whatever you want. You're a rich son of a bitch."

The two got quiet after that. Josephine went back to her phone when the tan one glanced back at her while the one with the glasses kept talking. The tan one said something shaking his finger at four-eyes before walking towards the counter.

"Restroom? Do I need a key? No." He spoke to Pete very briefly before making his way to the bathroom.

Josephine was about to say something to Pete but two more customers walked in. This time it was two girls. One was blonde with a floral white top which Josephine quite liked and the other was brunette with a long sleeve pink shirt. Josephine didn't know how she was doing it with the blazing hot summer heat from Texas, she was dying in a tank and shorts. Josephine recognized the girls after a while, she hasn't been working at the store for too long.

"Busy today aren't we, Pete?" She looked up from her phone over at Pete who chuckled in response.

The girl in the pink went to the back of the store, shortly after, four-eyes followed her. The blonde one however was having a boring conversation with Pete that Josephine wasn't paying attention to. A few minutes passed before the girl in the pink approached the counter, bottle of beer in her hand. Josephine noticed she looked worried for some reason and turned her phone off to join the conversation.

"Something wrong? What's going on back there, Jess?" He asked also noticing how she was spooked.

"That guy's a freak." She spoke in a hushed but cold tone.

"Who?" Josephine asked leaning on the counter beside Pete.

"That guy," She motioned her head behind her and both Pete and Josephine looked to see four-eyes still looking at the refrigerators filled with rows of different beers. "He practically drooled all over me."
