The scream finally stopped and when she opened her eyes panting, she was back in front of the twister where Santanico had pushed her. Josephine sat there, wiping the tears from her cheeks before standing back up going back into the Twister.
She walked in to see that Seth was taking the bonds off of him. The two turned to the still scared girl.
"Who was it this time?" Seth asked.
"No one important." Josephine said deciding not to say anything. The two didn't argue with her and continued the conversation they were having before she walked back in.
"Technically it's only twenty-six million but Carlos doesn't have to know that." Seth says as Santanico sits down on a chair.
"Are you certain about using the real thing?" Santanico asks.
"The first thing Carlos would do is check. It's what I would do." Josephine said agreeing with Seth.
"The plan will work," Seth said closing the briefcase he put the bonds in, "You just gotta make sure that your girls know what to do."
Seth put back on his shirt as Santanico nodded, "They will." She walked towards Seth, "Do you you think it's possible for someone to change their fate?"
"I think you're well on your way, sister." Seth says as he struggles buttoning the cuffs of his shirt. Josephine who was already near him, grabbed his arm and helped him as he continued talking to Santanico, "I mean, anybody crosses you, you can rip their guts out with their bare hands and eat them, right?"
Santanico rolled her eyes walking away from Seth as Josephine went on to the next sleeve. "Seth, she isn't bad." Josephine said looking up at the man when she finished.
The two searched each other's eyes as Santanico spoke up again, "It's how the world has always seen us. Something that must remain hidden, buried."
Josephine reached for Seth's black jacket not taking her gaze off the man as Santanico spoke something in spanish then went back to english, "It's our fate to live in the shadows."
Josephine helped the man into his jacket as Seth broke their long stare looking passed Josephine and at Santanico, "Well, maybe you oughta stop destroying people's lives."
"I do what I gotta do to survive," Santanico defends herself.
Seth didn't say anything else, he just grabbed the briefcase with one hand then Josephine's hand with his other.
"Seth," Santanico called as they began walking out of the building, "I was wrong about you."
"Save it okay," Seth said turning to the girl, "Not gonna work on this Gecko." He turned back around walking out of the Twister with Josephine.
Josephine turned her head back to Santanico and gave her a smile letting her know that she was going to get her out of there. She was going to set her free.
