Richie and Santanico dropped Josephine off back at Eddie's since the new couple that she came with decided to leave without her, but Josephine was okay with that. She didn't wanna ride back with Sonja, especially after what Santanico told her. The ride back with Richie and Santanico wasn't any better though, it was filled with intense silence. She thanked the couple for dropping her off and paying for her food before walking into the shop with her boxes of take out. Knowing that Eddie probably didn't have that great of lunch, her and Richie agreed to buy him something to go.
She hoped Eddie was still up because Josephine was starving seeing she didn't even touch her meal. She walked to the back to see Eddie sitting at the table reading a newspaper. "You're still up," Josephine said with a smile. She went to the kitchen grabbing two paper plates, dishing the food out from the boxes and on to them, and then stuck one plate in the microwave to warm the food up.
"Heard the dinner didn't go well, huh?" He asked turning a page in the news paper.
"Not at all." Josephine said leaning against the counter near the microwave. The machine beeped telling her that it was done.
She took out the plate of food that was for Eddie and set it in front of him, "Hope you didn't have a big dinner."
Eddie smiled, folded the newspaper up and began eating the steak that was cooked to perfection. Josephine sat down next to him when hers was done warming up.
"Seth didn't agree to the job? You have anything to do with that? Sonja did come back shaken up." Eddie asked the girl before taking a bite of the meat.
Josephine sighed, "I mean, I guess I am to blame for some of it. I pissed Sonja off which pissed off Seth. But it would've helped if Seth had a open mind to it all."
"Guess that puts a kink in the gig then," Eddie commented.
"Eddie, Richie really wants this job. You should've seen how pissed he was on the ride back. Do you think-" Josephine started but was interrupted by the old man.
"What? He'll take it from me?" Eddie asked then shook his head, "It's not right to steal another man's gig. There's a code. Richie won't break that code, he knows better."
Josephine wasn't really worried about Richie. Richie cared about Eddie and wouldn't do anything to hurt him. Who she was worried about was Santanico. She wanted Malvado dead. She didn't care who her and Richie would hurt in the process and she's very persuasive when she needs to be.
"Seth and Sonja don't seem to be in good terms," Eddie says quietly, "they came back yelling at each other."
Josephine looked up from her plate of food, as much as she hated to admit it, hearing that was music to her ears. Josephine was going to say something but shut up when the guest bedroom door opened. Seth walked out in his usual tank and boxers for pajamas and was rubbing his eyes, tired as he had just woken up.
