"Hey Tony?" You looked at him over the couch you were sitting on. He was on the kitchen counter, doing something on his laptop."Yeah, babe?" Tony spoke without looking up from the screen, making your eyes roll. Clint had looked utterly frightened at that, then felt rather relaxed when you rolled your eyes.
"What exactly did you mean by 'lockdown'?" You asked him.
"Um, Fury was the one who banned you out of the tower. I just put a 24*7 tracker system on you. Why?" He looked up at you. Bruce was busy with the book he was reading, Natasha still hadn't come to the main floor and Steve had left after making a few failed attempts at conversation with you. Clint listened in.
"Do you um... think maybe I could go out today with my friend?" You asked him, giving him your best puppy look.
"What friend?" Tony narrowed his eyes. He knew you weren't from New York and you certainly made no friends at the academy.
"We used to go the same church. It'll just be a brief catch up, since we're both in the same city and we haven't seen each other in a long time." You told him.
"Yeah? What's their name?" Tony asked, not looking away. He doubted if you were telling the truth or not.
"Tyler." You said. Tyler had texted you after you had left the bar with Clint, and you had talked since. You two had broken up on rather irrelevant terms, and you thought meeting up would be great. He'd just asked you out for a drink, but it did make you think what'd it be like to get back with him after this while.
"Your ex boyfriend? You're going on a date?" Clint spoke up now, his eyes intent. This made Bruce look up from his book too.
"Date?" Tony repeated. "Fury doesn't allow you for a walk, what makes you think he'll allow you out for a date?" He asked you, kind of proud of himself for finding the right excuse for not allowing you to go out with your past lover.
"But Fury won't even have to know! I'll be back in an hour, I swear!" You pleaded. Clint didn't realise you were holding a breath. He was hoping Tony would say no.
Tony sighed, "I'm sorry, Y/N. I can't help you." Tony said and Clint let out a relaxed breath. Tony turned back to his screen.
You sighed, "Fine then." You walked over to him and leaned down close to his ear, making goosebumps appear on Tony's neck. "Perhaps I'll tell everyone you tried to kiss me then?" You pulled your final card.
Tony froze for a moment, eyes fixed at the wall in front of him. "Nobody would be surprised." He said.
"Really? You don't think I checked a list of your past lovers? I'm way under your average age, Stark." You grinned. "Plus, I'm pretty much an Avenger now." You said.
Tony glared at you. He knew he'd be able to track and see you pretty much all the time, but he still did not trust this Tyler guy. He did no know him, but him being your ex was pretty much the red flag he needed. "One hour, not even a minute more." He said. Still on with your goofy grin, you pecked his cheek and walked off. Tony let out a breath, focusing on the his screen once again.
Clint's fists clenched at that, teeth gritting. "How long are you going to keep it to yourself?" Bruce asked Clint in a low voice so Tony wouldn't hear.
Clint looked at Bruce and stood up, "Why don't you figure that out yourself too huh?" He said in an angry tone and walked to Tony. "You're letting him go? What will Fury say?"
"Yeah? What would have Fury said when you took him out?" Tony counteracted without looking away from his screen. But then he looked up, narrowing his eyes on him. "How did you know that this Tyler is Y/N's ex though?"
