"Home, sweet home." Steve cooed as he helped you into the room you had shared with Steve for so many years passed. You had just been discharged from the hospital wing of the tower and were allowed to stay in your room and were suggested rest. Although the fracture in your right hand remained as such, most of the other wounds you had suffered had pretty much healed up.

"Yeah, I missed this." You smiled as you got to the bed. Steve day you down and put the covers over you after taking your shoes off. "So, what have you been upto while I was gone?" You asked casually as you took a sip from the glass of water Steve had just gotten for you.

"Well..." Steve started as he went to the fridge. He took out an apple and sliced it for you. "I was actually pretty free, no mission as such. Only had a couple of sessions with the cadets for their training." He said as he brought the apples for you.

"And um..." he sat next to you and pulled out what looked like a catalogue book from his bedside drawer. "I saw this." He said and opened to a page which showed a house.

"Oh, wow

"Oh, wow." You raised your brows and took the catalogue. "I didn't think you were so serious when you said you wanted to move out." You said, not having had expected this so soon.

"Do you not want this?" He asked and even though you knew he didn't mean it to be, the particular sentence came out a bit sharp. But he covered for it quickly, "I mean, there are others too. I shortlisted a few." He said and flopped a couple of pages.

But you weren't interested in the catalogue anymore. You merely reached for his hand and held it gently. "Steve... is this about Clint?" You asked in a low voice.

"Can we not talk about him?"

"This isn't about him, it's about you. About us." You said. He moved his eyes up to lock with yours.

"I just... I haven't felt this insecure before." He said after a long pause and a deep sigh.

"Insecure?"

"I don't know, Y/N." he looked away and shook his head. "Nevermind, it's just stupid." He said.

"Steve..." you gently caressed his cheek and made him look at you. "You have nothing to worry about. What I had with Clint... I agree it was strong. But it's all in my past now. You're my present. I mean it's up to you if you want to be my future or not considering how obnoxious and annoying I really am." You smile.

Steve frowned initially but chuckled and shook his head, "You're not obnoxious nor annoying."

"You sure? So I'm forgiven for uploading the pictures of you when you tried Natasha's bathing suit?" You laughed.

"Hey! That was really rude." Steve pouted. "You were the one who blackmailed me into doing it."

"Aw, seriously? Me? I could never blackmail such a butch like you."
