The party was amazing let a few things aside. You did not know more than half the people that were there and you kept hearing confused murmurs that debated on whether you really did cheat on Clint or all they heard was a rumour. Clint did not leave your side once, and at first it did feel like a loving and caring gesture but it soon started to make sense. His hand slipped into yours or around your shoulder every time a guy greeted you. But you did not say anything because it did not bother you much, Clint was not being rude or anything and you did think you should try to understand how he must feel after the whole Grindr incident."Y/N?" You heard your name and turned around from the people that you were talking to. Well you were just standing there, they were all Clint's friends. There was no one. You frowned and turned back to the group. Clint looked at you and smiled.
"Everything alright, babe?" He asked. He was very observant and protective of you seeing how loud and crowded the party was even though you had reassured him that you did take your anxiety pills.
"Yeah, I think I just heard Charlie's voice." You mumbled, confused. Charlie was your only friend from the SHIELD academy and you two were really close before he was stationed to a far apart SHIELD base. He was your senior so you had to finish the rest half of the academy pretty much alone. It wasn't really possible for him to be here, the facility he was stationed at was highly classified and people were barely ever allowed to go out or even contact the people outside.
"Who?" Clint asked, not knowing who Charlie was. Just as you were about to speak and you felt someone pat your shoulder. You turned around but there was no one. You frowned and turned back to see Charlie in front of you. Your eyes widened with surprise and euphoria before you were crushed by his infamous bone crushing hugs. "Congratulations on the engagement." He said and pulled back.
"How..." you were almost speechless at his presence.
"Tony got Fury to help me leave the facility for a couple of hours. I'm so happy to see you again." Charlie said and hugged you again before Clint cleared his throat.
You both pulled back. "Oh right, sorry." You chuckled, still a little baffled a lot excited to see Charlie. "Clint, this is Charlie. My friend from the academy. And Charlie, meet Clint."
"His fiancé." Clint added and shook Charlie's hand with a warm smile.
"Wait, did I hear only a couple of hours?" You spoke again.
"Yeah, and that includes the 50 minute journey to here and back." He smiled apologetically at you.
"That means you're here only for a few minutes?" You asked. Charlie nodded. "Oh my fuck I have so much to tell you." You took Charlie's hand before excusing yourself from Clint and his group of friends. Clint did eye you but you wanted to talk to Charlie in private and tell him about everything that happened in the past few months. You were cautious enough to stay in the vision line of Clint which wasn't that difficult.

"Hey, the others are asking for you." Clint came to you outside the tower at the launchpad as you saw your friend's jet take off.
"Yeah. I was just coming." You smiled to Clint and took his hand before walking back inside.
"So this Charlie..."
"Shit I'm so sorry you didn't even get to talk to him." You just realised and gasped.
"It's okay." Clint chuckled. "As long as you didn't fuck with him too." He joked as you two got in the elevator. It was very bitter and it hurt you to think Clint would say something like that.
