You woke up to a pleasant music playing in your room, you sat up confused as you rubbed your eyes. Suddenly, the music stopped and Jarvis' voice came up. "Sir, Mr. Barton would like to know if you'd be joining him for breakfast." He asked. You looked out of the window, it was still early. The clock showed it was around a quarter to seven."Yeah um... tell him I'll be there in 10." You said and went to the bathroom to freshen up and took a quick shower before heading down. Last night had been one of the worsts. You still wished you had run away, you hadn't told them. And now you pretty much hated that self righteous piece of shit that made it all happen. Captain America. As you walked to the kitchen, you could see only Clint setting the table. None of the others were around, "Where are the others?" You asked Clint and he shrugged.
"Probably sleeping. I made breakfast today as a thank you and a sorry for yesterday." He said. You looked confused. "For the breakfast and going out with me yesterday. And sorry for getting you in trouble." He said.
You smiled and sat down as he sat down next to you. "It's okay, I'm used to lockdowns. And I can bet Tony will probably let it go pretty soon. I think I might be growing on him." You chuckle but seeing the grey expression on Clint's face, you frown. "What's wrong?" You ask him.
"Do you like Tony?" He asked you, and you certainly had not expected that coming from Clint.
"What? No!" You laughed nervously, turning a bit red. "I mean he's hot and everything, and everyone speaks of how good he is in bed but I don't think so yet. Why? Do the two of you have a little something going on?" You wiggle your eyebrows at him. You laugh even more when Clint makes a puking expression.
"Of course not." He said. 'Yet', Clint replayed in his mind.
"If you say so, then." You giggled and ate your food. It wasn't bad, but wasn't great either. You smiled at how hard he must have worked for this, the food could tell he didn't cook. But the gesture made you happy.
"I'm sorry about Cap." You looked up at him when Clint said that.
"You don't have to apologise, sweetie. I'll make him sorry." You gave him a smile. It wasn't fake, but it sure as hell meant you were already up to something. You concentrated once again on your breakfast when you felt Clint's hand on top of yours. He had put his hand on top of your left hand that rested on the table while you ate with your right.
"Don't do anything you'll regret later, Y/N. I have heard a lot about you, and I know exactly what you're up to." Clint said, looking into your eyes. "The others won't be happy about it." he said.
"Well the others certainly weren't happy about what he did last night. But did they say something?" You sighed. "I'm not going to do any physical damage, Clint. It'll be just a bunch of things he deserve."
Clint looked concerned, for him and you both. "I know. I've seen your interrogation clips. You're the best at mind games, I agree. You don't need to pro-"
"I'm not here to prove anything!" You raised your voice, causing Clint's expression to sadden a bit more. You lowered your voice again, seeing the consequences. "I just..." you looked down at your food. "I told him no too many times last night. He kept taunting and everything, I did not bother. I was going back my way. I did not even do anything to him. Yet... I wonder if he had that all planned out, coming over for dinner. To make me tell him." you sighed and raised the sleeve of your hoodie to reveal your badly bruised wrist.
"Did Cap do this?" Clint asked, still not sure why the others had left out that detail when he told him what had happened.
