"Hey, Y/N! Wait!" You heard Banner's voice as you walked out of the room. He jogged a little to you, "I was just coming to get you. Where's Tony?" He asked, seeming rather excited."Probably still on his floor, why?" You asked a little grumpily. "What'd you need me for?" You asked him.
"Okay just wait here, I'll get him." He started his face walk to the elevator.
You sighed, "Why don't you just tell Jarvis to get him?" You asked him.
Bruce stopped midway and turned to you, a little embarrassed. "Right. Um, Jarvis?"
"I've notified Mr. Stark, sir. He says he'll be at the laboratory in a couple of minutes." Jarvis said.
"Okay. Great. Let's go." Bruce pushed you into the elevator and clicked the button to the lab.
"Wait, what's going on?" You ask him, but he refuses to answer. You sighed and waited for the elevator to reach the destination. The laboratory that Stark and Banner used was on one of the top floors. As the doors opened, you saw Tony waiting for you two there. He had a pleading look on his face, asking forgiveness. You rolled your eyes and got in with Bruce.
"This." Bruce grinned and walked into the center of the room. He clicked a button on the desktop and a hologram covered the center space, it was you. Just... different. It took you a moment to take in everything, you were wearing a combat suit that seemed to be equipped with just about everything you preferred in combat, nothing more that would weigh you down. But the suit wasn't the main attraction, your wings were. You saw them as they once used to be, with a bit of metal on the edges of your feathers. You walked nearer to the projection, hovering your fingers above the feathers. You looked back at Bruce.
"Tony designed everything. I just figured out how to make it possible." Bruce said, grinning at the awestruck look on your face. Your eyes moved to Tony's. He smiled, but he still looked troubled.
Does he like it? Tony thought, puzzled by the look on your face. You walked to him and hugged him gently but warmly. Okay he likes it. Tony grinned and hugged you back. You pulled back and went to hug Bruce who gently pushed you back, rather unamused by close contact. You chuckled and went to see the hologram again. "I can't wait to fly again." You smiled, tears finally breaking the walls and falling down your cheeks.
"Well, good things don't really have to keep you waiting now. Do they?" You turned to see Tony grinning. "Jarvis, get me a suit." He walked over to you.
"Oh wait, no." You stepped back, a little scared but excited as well.
"Oh wait, yes." Tony chuckled, a suit came through and wrapped around Tony's body as he walked to you. He picked you up and flew through as the windows slid open. You could hear Bruce chuckle as you two went airborne. Nobody spoke till the two of you were above the clouds, you now sitting on Iron Man's shoulders with your hands rested on his head. You saw the sun set as Tony finally spoke up. "Jarvis thinks you're a grifter and you're lying to all of us about a lot of things." Tony almost whispered, just loud enough for you to hear. He had taken off his mask.
You gulped, but chose not to reply. You knew someone might get to you but in no world had you imagined a software would beat world's greatest agents. "I haven't told the others yet." He said in a more serious tone. "And I'm not going to force you to tell us everything right away. But I expect you to at least start by something." He said.
You sighed. "My favorite color is F/C?"
Tony chuckled. "Well that is something." He said. "But seriously, Cap seems satisfied with what Banner has in mind for you. And Fury's too busy to even bother. You're going to be in the field with us soon. Don't you think you should at least-" Tony was forced to cut off mid sentence as his thrusters failed and you two soon found yourselves free falling under gravity. Shit. You closed your eyes and gripped Tony's suit tightly and you two stopped just inches before the ground. Tony's suit was still not responding. Tony landed on his feet and you fell off his back, you only remember him holding you before everything blacked out.
