"I don't want you to go." Steve mumbled as he pulled you closer, burying his face in the crevice of your neck as he hugged you from behind. The two lay on your bed having both been awaken by the alarm going off. Today was the day you were supposed to go on the mission with Clint. You reached out from Steve's strong grip, as he had his arms wrapped around you, and turned off the alarm.

"I need to go, Steve." You sighed.

You heard him groan as he let go of you and plopped up on his elbows on the bed. You sat up, stretched your arms and crossed your legs on the bed. You smiled at Steve and gave him a quick kiss, "Hey. Keep yourself busy and I'll be back before you know it, okay?"

Steve merely nodded as he continued to look into your eyes. Another one of his habits you had grown used to. He always said that your eyes were the favorite part about you that he adored. And before every time you two had to separate, may it be for work or some other reason, he would always stare deep into your eyes before finally parting. You had once asked him why he did that to which he had answered, "I'm a selfish man, Y/N. I only stare into your eyes in a hope that I can keep a fraction of your warmth with me until you get back. For I cannot do without you."

You smiled at him, gave him a much deeper kiss and got up to get ready. You went to the bathroom, showered and got dressed in your SHIELD suit. As you exited the bathroom and got back into the room, your senses were met with a heart warming aroma. It wasn't just of something cooking. It was Steve's cooking. He was making you breakfast. You smiled to yourself and made your way to the small dining table in your room.

"You didn't have to do that." You said with a blush as Steve sat you down and served you breakfast.

"No can do, sir. You're not going out on an empty stomach." He said and you had to check with yourself to make sure if he was just saying or actually scolding you. Well, he had a smug smile plastered on his face so he wasn't scolding alright.

"Right." You chuckled and dug in after Steve got his own plate and sat next to you.

After breakfast, you said your goodbyes to Steve with a smile and a hug before leaving for the SHIELD headquarters where you were supposed to report with Clint. You met Clint in the parking with a minimal greeting. The way to the headquarters was silent despite the casual chitchat about the weather.

Upon reaching the HQ, you were briefed about the mission once again. It was a simple spy, infiltrate, fetch and run mission. You were required to steal information and leave. You were slightly confused as to why exactly you were assigned a pure stealth operation but you didn't question.

"So... how's Cap?" Clint asked as you two were alone in the quinjet. There were still at least a couple of hours to your destination.

"He's alright." You replied with a sigh, knowing it was better to talk to Clint than go to a mission without any communication and awkward silences. "He always gets a bit worried whenever I go on a mission he's not involved in."

"Right." He said and looked at you. You were checking the controls of the quinjet and put it back on autopilot before looking back to Clint. He was giving you a look felt so foreign to you which really shouldn't. How long was fifteen years anyway? "Clint." You warned.

"What?"

"You're giving me that look." You said as you stood up and walked over to sit on a more comfortable seating,

"What look?" He asked, obviously oblivious to the enmity of his mind and physiognomy.

"The 'I really want to fuck you right now. Please sympathise and come to me.' look."
