"Please leave..." you said nonchalantly, looking down at the floor. You liked Clint a lot. And you'd have done anything for him. But what would have distinguished him from guys like Tyler had he forced everything on you with you having to go through it just to be useful? Maybe it was all a misunderstanding.
For Clint, your last words had felt like bullets go through his heart. He sat on the bed utterly baffled, fossicking through his mind trying to figure out where he went wrong. He clearly remembers you kissing him back so if you hadn't shared the feelings, this reaction would have come a bit quicker. It was then things started to come to him that he realised he had felt a push on his shoulder. And then everything hit him. Hard. He got off the bed and stood up in front of you. "Y/N I wasn't going to force anything on you. I swear. I just got carried away." He walked closer to you and held your hand. You flinched at first but you let him hold it. You trusted Clint. But again, you had a sizeable tendency to trust people easily. "It's okay if you don't want to move there just yet." Clint added, worry covering up his face as no reply came from you. "I'll leave if you want. But I wasn't going to force to you have sex with me. I swear." He said.
You looked up at him and nodded. "I'm sorry..." you mumbled. "I didn't mean to-" you started but Clint cut you off.
"It's okay. I shouldn't have startled you like that. Perhaps we'll start fresh?" He smiled at you and kissed your cheek. You turned a deep shade of red and looked down as Clint hugged you, your head resting on his collar bone. "Come on, you really should lie down. You need rest." Clint whispered in your ear. His voice gave out he was still beating himself for doing what he did but you didn't say anything. You did as he said and laid down on the bed, getting under the sheets. "Do you need anything?" Clint asked again and you shook your head no.
But as he turned to leave, you held his hand. "Don't leave." You said.
Clint turned back to look at you, his face lit brighter than ever. "I wasn't going to leave. I just need to pee." He smiled and walked closer to the bed, leaning down and kissing your nose before he went to the bathroom. The Hawkeye and you. It made your heart flutter. Clint Barton. He was perfect. Too good for a guy like you maybe. But you weren't going to deprive yourself of anything this time. You deserved someone good. That good is him. And to that beautiful though, you fell asleep.
***
You woke up feeling a sharp pain in your back. You groaned and rolled over, opening your eyes slowly as you shifted your wings carefully. "Hey, you okay?" Clint asked. He was sitting on the edge of your bed.
"Y-Yeah." You opened your eyes and turned to him, realising the effect of pain killers was slowly dying out. You saw a book in Clint's hand. It was The Selfish Gene by Richard Dawkins. Weird, you never knew Clint had an interest in Biology. But what caught more of your interest was his glasses. Hawkeye was wearing reading glasses and you had never seen him in them before. And damn did he look sexy.
"Well green beans came to check on you. He says you're healing pretty good and he wouldn't recommend anymore analgesics for the day. You're going to have to bear through it." Clint told you.
"Hmm? Oh." You sighed but then noticed Clint slowly putting the book behind him. "I never knew you had a spot for evolution before." You smiled, seeing the blue eyes blonde blush as he took off his glasses.
"I... I was just looking through." He said. You chuckled and shook your head when you heard a knock on your door. It was Thor and Natasha.
"Greetings, my friend. How are you now?" Thor asked your brightly.
You smiled, "Never better." You said.
"Jarvis told us you were up so we thought we'd check on you even though Bruce said you'd need rest. We're not interrupting, are we?" Natasha smiled as she sat next to Clint on your bed. Thor took a chair and sat himself near the bed.
