Minette Absolon-Baptiste-Du Val POV

"Then it is settled. Princess Luna will be meeting with your Luna in the east wing, second floor, room fourteen, at noon. Surely you know to arrive on the dot. We expect no earlier or later than the scheduled time. Understood?"

I listened as the Beta of the Aureate Moon pack responded to my Beta.

"Very well. Until then." The phone was placed back to the receiver.

"Beta June."

"My Princess Luna." She turned to me, her head bowed. "Your guest will arrive tomorrow-"

"At noon," I stated knowingly. "And she's not.. just a guest, "I turned to leave the room. "She's my daughter."

I hummed all the way down the familiar trail as small fingers slipped through my hand and intertwined with my own.

I looked down, big blue eyes wearing the same smile as I did.

"You know, your father would have a heart attack if he knew we were out here so late.." I laughed, "Auguste likes to think we're made of glass, though a part of him knows better."

"Does Daddy not like coming here?"

"Daddy's never been here before." I stopped to crouch down in front of my little girl, running a hand through her ever-sunkissed head of hair, even in the night. "This place is just for the two of us, bird."

"Really, Mama?" Wide eyes gazed up at me, the moonlight hitting just enough to make small sparkles near her pupils.

"Really, baby." I stood, reaching for her hand again. "Come along."

"Hey, Mama?"

"Yes, honey?"

"Why do we come here to play wolf? How come Daddy can't play too? Can't we play at home sometimes? I like this place, but.. it's far." She kicked her little leg up, continuing to walk with a small skip.

"You've seen how big Mama's wolf is, honey. Imagine it in the house. And when your old enough, your wolf will come out to play too. That's not a lot of room, is it?"

Her eyes looked forward as they widened. "We would smush it." She said softly.

"Uh huh, and where would we go without our home?" I looked off into the distance. "Mommy needs her home with you and Daddy." I said more to myself.

"We could play wolves forever out here! Me, you, and Daddy."

"That's the thing, baby. Daddy can't play wolf with us. Only you and Mommy can."

"Aw, why?" Her hand dropped out of mine. "I love Daddy."

"I love Daddy too, but if Daddy seen our game, honey, then Mommy would have to leave."

"What? No! Go where, Mama?" The worry in her innocent eyes ate away at my secrets.

"We won't have to worry about that, bird, so long as we don't spill our secret game to Daddy, or anyone else. Okay?"

Her little brain seemed to work it over for a moment. Then she grabbed my hand. "Just don't leave me, Mama."
