"You've gotten better at snooping." He turned to me as I stood in the doorway of my room, watching him sift through my father's papers. "When did you manage to snag these from him?"
"I don't snoop." I reminded him. "Anyways, you're on my temporary base. I think it'd be fair to say that you and yours are doing the snooping."
"You don't feel comfortable with your own wolves guarding you?" I knew it was rhetorical, crossing his arms across his wide chest as he said it.
"I only need Gabe and Gio." I eyed him. "And you."
"Do you?" He threw them to the nightstand, making his way to me in those long, confident strides. "Because I don't think you do. Or you don't really think so at least."
"Say how you're really feeling." I rose my head to meet his unwavering eyes as he towered his tall, broad frame above me. He reached over me and I thought he was moving to grab me, but he grabbed ahold of the door and closed it, eyes never leaving mine as he did.
He narrowed them. "We need to talk."
"That's an understatement." I quipped.
He looked down at my hands.
"Mmm, this." I lifted the hand that was bound beautifully and adorned by a wristband that seemed to be timeless, yet complemented with dried blood. "Means what I think it means?"
I knew instinctually when I'd seen it what it'd meant. Yet I kept needing to hear it, to be reassured that someone like him, wanted to be with someone like me.. until death do us part.
"What say you, Nova Du Val?"
"I'd say you have a lot of balls, wolf boy. I was out cold and you pulled a fast one on me."
"I want to spend the rest of my life with you." He bluntly threw at me.
I tried not to wear my heart on my sleeve. "With me, that might be a very short life."
"I need you, Nova. And I think you know that. I hope you do. I pray to Goddess you know that everything I do, I do for your well-being."
I chuckled ironically. The Goddess, if anyone, knew why I found him praying to her about that, about me, funny. She knew good and well what state my well-being was in, alright.
"I love you."
No way when he said that was I going to be able to keep a poker face. His eyes, how I'd missed those beautiful eyes and his stupidly handsome face.
"..you're suppose to hate me."
"No, sweetheart." He sighed, closing that minuscule space in between us. "I don't believe that."
"I don't care what you think."
"I know you do. Just as much as I care about what you think, especially about that wolven you still wear.. especially about me."
"You have to ask?" I looked up at him from under shaded lashes.
"I have to hear it, Nova. From you." In that, we were alike.
His eyes reflected, just as mine did and a loudly quiet moment passed between us as we watched the other, as still as rocks, barely breathing.
Goddess, he smells like the woods of our home. Like earth and vanilla.
And then.. two of the most powerful bodies within the perimeter came crashing into one another like two planets colliding. Like one tectonic plate against the next, quaking every floor and wall seemingly miles out.
One minute my feet were on the floor, the next, I was thrown against the wall and legs lifted, being wrapped around the body of that which was mine. His. His lips were non-too gentle, ravishing my own, my jaw, my neck. They were like fire, hot molten lava pouring rough kisses, bruising my skin, heating me in a way that only he could.
He wasn't playing it soft tonight, no. He was just what I needed, strong, demanding, rough and yearning. One hand slipped around my neck, eyes watching me intently as his other hand unzipped his pants.
"Tell me you still want me." His voice came out rugged, rough. Deep and coursed like ocean's floor-bed, his voice caressed me like satin.
I smacked his hand away with no care of delicacy, "I always will. You make me absolutely crazy, but I will. Always." His response was wordlessly loud as he filled me, my moans echoing throughout the no longer quiet complex. "Yes.." I moved against him. "Harder."
His fist slammed so hard against the door when he quickened his pace, that an indent ended up giving way under all four of his knuckles. I laughed into his kiss, spinning our weight so that I could pin him to the wall and I did so with a hard slam.
Air left him in a rushed wheeze, before he chuckled it off and brought me further up to kiss and engulf his lips around my breasts. I sprang from his hold and shook out of what was left of my clothes, noticing he'd ripped them at some point. When I was bare, he stared at me with bright, yet dark with lust, eyes.
A slow growl of appreciation hummed from him that only excited the wolves within me. My eyes glared over, reflecting in response to his. "We don't got all night.. wolf boy." A part of me laughed inwardly at the double entendre.
But then our bodies came together, clashing again and meeting with a hard crack in the middle of the bed. I could hear it, like the bass of a drum beating hard against the wall. The headboard began to chip in fragments until it crumbled above us altogether. So we moved to the next available spot.
And when the couch caved in, we moved to the table and countertops. When those didn't prove sturdy, we tried to cave a hole in the floor.
"I think.. someone's knocking.." He panted.
I leaned past his hips to look toward the door. "I don't hear anything." I regained my position in front of him as he stood above me. "They'll leave."
"Miss Ducrem?" I heard a feminine voice on the other side of the door. The manager of the complex.
"Shit." I let go, moving away from him to get the door.
"Don't eat her." Grey teased, finding his way under tossed sheets. He threw one my way, but I let it hit my back and drop to the floor.
"Modesty's for the weak." I swung the door open. "Hello, Miss Nia." I stood unashamed in the doorway.
"Oh, my.." She adverted her eyes. "I'm sorry to disturb you, my goodness.. I'm hear about a few noise complaints. I think someone said a murder."
"I can assure you," I gestured behind me to Grey, making his way to stand at my side. The covers doing little to cover anything of value, "No one's dead here."
Grey smacked me on my butt and bared a wide grin for Miss Nia. "Very much alive. We'll keep it down."
She leaned to look past him into the severely damaged room. We both smiled sheepishly at her.
"And we'll pay for that." He glanced behind him. "Uh, all of it."
She was in sheer disbelief. "..right.."
"Thank you, Miss Nia." I waved and Grey shut the door. Pushing me so hard I flew back across the room to fall against the bed. I looked up at him with wild, hair-covered, reflecting eyes.
"Now, where were we.. Miss Du-Krem?" He cleared the room to me in a singe bound.
