I gasped, opening my eyes.

A blinding light shone overhead as I blinked hard to adjust my view. I tried to lift my hand to block it, but my arm wouldn't let me just yet.

The rushing, beading nerves were still calming down in my body, the sense of feeling coming to me slowly.

I tried to speak, to say anything.. no, to say the first thing that came to mind.

Grey..

But I couldn't.

Not only could I not find my voice, but I couldn't move my lips. Not even a twitch. All I could do was blink and lay there praying that I wasn't being tormented by another illusion.

But this was different.

Everything was real.

The pain was real.

I felt my tears as they slid down the sides of my face and I knew that I was finally awake.

Grey!

Grey's POV

"I've assembled you all here, because you know there are pressing matters. Things disrupting the pack that we, I must tend to."

I gestured for them to sit.

"We've all heard word of the Luna's return as well as her state. I'm here to confirm those words. It is true. The Royal pack has wounded our Luna."

A head noticeably bowed and I knew they wished to speak.

"William." I addressed him.

"Were they the ones to have returned her, Alpha?"

"No." I opted not to lie or beat around the bush. That would solve nothing. They needed my honesty, the complete enraging truth. Because they needed to see what was happening.

A war.

"Family did." I found familiar eyes and received a smile from Kaleb. "Kalen did."

Murmurs burst throughout the room.

"I know there are rules, laws that bind us from going back on certain words. On certain actions." I tried to meet all of their eyes.

"As Alpha, I am meant to teach, to lead, to protect. But down this path, I've forgotten the most import thing which is for a Prime to learn from their pack as well. One may be able to teach many, but for the many to teach the one speaks volumes. Shows the strength of the pack when they unite and come together to form a family. One single entity, yet each individually bringing something to the table."

William nodded along with the rest.

"I am strong, yes. But my strength only comes from that of yours. I am nothing without the whole of you." Without Nova.. "And to be whole, we need our family together."

"What are you proposing, Alpha?" Gamma Spear asked, it was new to see his curiosity getting the better of him, and speaking out.

"That I fix what is broken, because blood can never be that." I motioned for the wolves guarding the doors to open them.

"Kalen Giovanni Pryor." I addressed him as he stood before our people after making his entrance with guards on either side of him across the room.

They watched him with wide eyes, some judging, some confused, and some who had obviously missed him.

"Former member of the Aureate Moon Pack. Second to the eldest wolf son of the Pryor litter." I announced as he walked over to me.

He dropped down to his knee in front of me, head bowed, and eyes closed. "Alpha Greyden Krem of Aureate Moon." Was all he said. And I knew it was all he could muster, he was still recovering.

I was honestly surprised to see him up and walking.

Though of course he would naturally be able to withstand a beating. He had Beta genes coursing through his blood. He was meant to be of rank in a pack, of status.

And though it would not be the same, he would regain some type of status back today. If not for he and I's relationship, for me and Kaleb's.

Nova would want this of us, we both want this of us.

"Many things in the past have caused a rift between you and this pack, much has happened in the time since to allow thoughts to turn over.. for a new strength to grow and weave its way through our hearts."

Kaleb bowed his head and started to drop to his knee, but I quickly waved for him to stand. He would no longer bow to me, a friend.. a brother.

"Kaleb, youngest wolf brother of the Pryor litter."

"Luna Nova." Was all he said before the crowd of wolves roared with excitement and worry for their Luna.

"Yes, Luna Nova." I answered. "She has reminded us just how far we should have went for family. And today, in her honor, and to right a horrible wrong, to end a hypocritical feud.."

I placed my hands on the shoulders of Kalen's still knelt down frame.

Reaching further than myself, I pushed past the walls blocking me, and entered the ties of my Alpha title.

I could feel it, my inner wolf, wrapping around the connection I shared with all the wolves of my land until I could weed out one in particular.

It was damaged, broken.. but not beyond repair.

I forced my dominance over him and bound him to the other strands I knew were the connection I had to my people, tying him back in to where he had always rightfully belonged.

I was bringing my friend home.

"I, Alpha Greyden Krem, hereby acknowledge you as one of my own. As a member of my pack. And as a brother to this family. Welcome back to Aureate Moon."

When I lifted my hands from him, his body slumped forward, though he was still able to support himself up.

I was almost unsure if I had properly reconnected him, but when his hand slowly moved up, I knew that he was okay.

I reached down, taking his hand in mine, bringing in his weight as he came off of the ground.

"Thank you.. Alpha."

"We still need to discuss a lot." I said carefully next to him.

"I understand. Until then, allow me to be grateful and bask in this moment amongst my people. It's been.."

"Too long." I shook his hand, patting him. "I'm glad you're back. I'll assemble a team to help you bring your-"

He shook his head. "Not yet. There are some I want to surprise." He smiled, looking to Kale that stood off in the corner with Gamma Spear at his side.

He was up next to be the topic of discussion.

But I would let them bathe in happiness of the return of their beloved Kalen. Our Kalen. He was home.

"Alpha!" Kaleb bowed his head to me quickly before outright hugging me. "Thank you." He let out in a small breath, yet it said so much.

"Thank you." I patted him on the back. "For reminding me."

"Don't ever forget."

I pulled away to look at him, then laughed as he complained while I twisted my fist side to side on the top of his head, holding him still. "Never."

I went to say something, but right as I did.. something seemed to freeze me absolutely still in place. It was for a fraction of a millisecond, an amount of time too minuscule for most to even notice.

But I did.

She's awake.

My wolf became so overwhelmed with emotions it had actually managed to detach from me, if only but to say the one thing.

I'm sure the others would have been worried with the look on my face, but only one had noticed. Kaleb. He had noticed because one moment I was there play-fighting with him, and then the next.. I was gone.

Just like that.
