Beta Audri's POV

"You're not the Beta I spoke to for this meeting."

I looked down at myself, then back up at the she-wolf I could only assume Kale had spoken to. The Princess's Beta.

I'd heard stories of the royal pack having two betas and the female of the two, to be ruthless in a battle.

I bowed before her. "Lady Beta."

"You are?" Her tone wary.

"Beta to the Luna of the Aureate Moon pack." When my eyes met hers, I felt a sort of.. familiarity.

"You a Graham wolf, huh?" She gestured for me to stand, before turning to enter back inside, leaving the door open for me. "Beta June will suffice." She said a moment after I stepped in.

How-how does she know?

"Yes, Beta June." I answered to both her question and her statement, following suite behind her.

"Tell me, are you and your pack up to any trickery?" I could hear the venom in her tone as she blatantly came right out and asked.

I kept my breathing even and leveled, undetectable to super senses that might pick up on any signs of deceit.

"Pardon me?"

"Why did your Primary Beta not inform me of you? It was him I thought I was to be meeting."

"Excuse my frankness, My Lady, but if you're insinuating any disloyalty on my pack's behalf, then I'll gladly retreat to my Primes and inform them of just what you think of us."

She turned to me. Her tall, muscled frame nearly towering over mine. "I don't take too kindly to threats, young wolf."

"That wasn't a threat. Though I'm sure you've heard of my Alpha, you know, the beast whose family are a pack of dangerous wolves? Deadly." I coolly looked up at her. "That, that was a threat."

"I'll have your canines."

I wanted to kick her right in her lady parts, but opted to play nice for the sake of the mission. For the sake of Nova.

"Maybe we've gotten off on a tad bit of a rough start." I put my hand out for her to take. "Audri."

She eyed me a moment, yet reluctantly placed her hand in mine.

And then.. something happened..
