Meanwhile at work, there was a new guy working next door to my offices. He was still moving in but he caught my attention a lot without knowing. He was well built with a beard. He was so attractive.
"Maybe you could bag him." my assistant joked.
"Nonsense. I'm not interested." I laughed.

We stared outside the window with dreamy eyes admiring him instead of working.

There was something a bit off about him. I just couldn't put my finger on it. Laura left the room and I was about to get back to work when I saw someone I knew far too well from a distance.

Lizelle.

Lizelle was walking into the building next door. She had a basket of food with her. Her belly was growing. I assume she would be giving birth soon. I took a closer look at what she was up to. It seemed innocent because she walked in with a basket but wait...
She walked out without it.

This guy's stay here would be interesting!

"Laura! Come here quick." I whispered.
Laura rushed in.
Tell me something. She walked in with a basket and walked out without it.

"A basket of?"
"Of food!"
"It could be innocent. It could be her brother."
"I was at the wedding remember?"
"Yeah but we don't know for a fact she's doing something shady."

I was quiet and watched as she drove away. Back to Samuel.

Mitchell was taking his bath and I was sitting on the closed toilet lid listening to him tell me about how him and Jimmy get along now.

"Jimmy now understands that mothers can also be daddies and daddies can also be mothers."
"So you guys made peace now?"
"Yes, mom."

I smiled at him.

"Mummy?"
"Mhm?"
"Why are you and dad not together?"
I honestly thought we were over this talk with Mitchell but clearly I had more questions to answer to as he grew up.

"Because sometimes things aren't meant to be" my mom walked in and intervened.
"But you and grandpa are still together. I also want my mummy and daddy to be together."

My mom and I looked at each other. This was harder than we thought. It made me think about the homework James gave me.

Even if I don't reconcile with Samuel. I had to forgive him in person. Regardless of whether he apologized or not.

I sent him a text letting him know we need to meet tomorrow.

A few minutes later my phone lit up. It was Samuel.
Shocked, I answered.

"Hello."
"Uhm..hey...Court."
"Yeah?"
"I got your message."
"Oh yes. Uhm.."
"Where are meeting?."
"Just at the coffee shop. That should do."
"Alright. See you tomorrow."

I could hear Lizelle in the background shouting for him. Wow, right.
