It was a stressful morning for James and I. We were working through our finances and realized at the rate my business was going, I wasn't going to be able to afford the wedding.
"I won't afford it. Not a chance and I won't be running to pull out loans and policies. Let's wait for another two months."
"Two months?"
"Yes. Please. It gives me the chance to plan my dream wedding and not something quick."
"So no wedding?"
"Uhm...I don't think so."James stared into the air as if he was thinking about something.
"Wait...how about a marriage officer?" he asked.
"A ma--what?" I laughed.
He came closer to me and put his arms around me."I want you to have this surname so bad."
"So...you found an easy way out?"
"Not to say we won't have a wedding. We can have your mom and that friend of yours as witnesses."
"And yours?"
"My dad, don't worry about it."
"Well okay. We will do this only for the name change sake then in two months we will have our big wedding"
"Two?"
"Yes baby, two." I held up two fingers.
"Two?" he asked again.
"Two."
"Two it is then."
"I knew you'd listen and understand." I chuckled. My mom would be a bit freaked out but I know in the end she would agree.
