The next day we were checking out.
"All these gifts!" I struggled to walk down the stairs.Mitchell was spoiled rotten by everyone who came to the party.
"Did you thank everyone?" mom asked.
"Yes, mom. You always tell me it's good manners." I rolled my eyes.My mom. She never changes.
We were walking towards the reception when I saw a figure I thought I recognized. In my head, I ignored it.My mom, sister and I arrived at reception to return the key.
"Visit again soon." the lady said.
We turned around and on our way out we bumped into Samuel and Lizelle walking into the hotel with luggage. They looked like they were on holiday.
I stopped and stared at them then at him. He stared back at me and for that moment we had nothing to say to each other. My heart was filled with pain inside. My eyes were teary.
My sister walked back to take my hand and walk me out with all those gifts in our hands and Mitchell in the pram. She wanted to get me out of Samuel's sight. She was right to do so because I would have told him off.
I walked off with my sister and we went to the car. We packed everything in and put little Mitchell on the car seat.
The drive home was really quiet when I broke out.
"I mean how dare he!"
"Little sis, don't stress yourself it's not worth it."
"It was his baby's birthday, Happiness, he missed it yesterday and comes to the same hotel with his bimbo." I sobbed."Baby, you've got to let him go. I know it hurts."
"It hurts mama. It hurts!"
"Come here baby, shhh."My mom held my hand from the backseat where she was sitting.
"Let's stop by for ice cream." Happiness suggested.
She wanted to cheer me up and she knew exactly what would help.
