(Y/n) is a cute little devil. At only seven, he already has (h/l) (h/c) locks and (e/c) orbs glistening with mischief. He's sick and tired of the life he's lived, only at seven, so he sneaks onto a boat. He doesn't even care where it leads, he just wants to get away from, what it seems like, the world being out to get him.
His parents are dead, so it's not like he has people to worry about him. No one will miss him when he's gone, so he's free to go. The most free he's ever been is now. Swaying back and forth, floating on top of the water; nothing but wood in between him and the ocean.
The waves hit the side of the cargo hold and the smell of the supplies waft through his nose. It's just straw and... fruits and vegetables, but he's starving. He hasn't eaten in who knows how long.
He walks over to a box and reaches into it. He pulls out an carrot and sticks out his tongue in disgust. He puts it back and walks over to a crate, this time he pulls out an apple.
He takes his sleeve and wipes it like he's polishing a shoe, before he takes a bit out of it. The sweetness of the juice makes him close his eyes. He jolts alert as he hears footsteps, making him dash behind several crates and grabbing a blanket to throw over himself.
He holds the bitten into apple in his hand, really wanting to eat it, but knowing better. He can't make a noise, he'll be caught and probably thrown overboard. And he can't swim... so there's that.
He slows down his breathing so that no one can hear him. Thankfully the person in the room turns around and heads back up on deck. (Y/n) lets out a sigh of relief as he crawls back out into the open. He continues to eat the apple until he knows that everyone's asleep.
He walks out in deck and his eyes widen. A giant elephant walks in the distance. He makes it a goal to get up there. He wants to ride the elephant! So... somehow... he gets up there.
He doesn't question it. He just somehow managed to get up on the elephant, and boy he enjoys the view. But he doesn't stand there for long as the sun is starting to rise, and he's hungry.
So the boy takes a walk into a forest to look for fruit or something. He starts to look around, already regretting his decision. This island doesn't leave a fluffy feeling inside of him.
He decides to turn back around and try to board the ship again, but he doesn't get far before he hears the low hum of some bees. It isn't until he spits them that he notices the size is far bigger here than on his old island.
Since he doesn't know how to really defend himself yet, he high tails it out of there, of course he's not fast enough, but he still tries. Give the poor adorable kid that.
Plus it's not like he really needs to defend himself, because once he has his back against a rock, or something, he's not really paying attention, someone jumps in front of him; A tall (to him anyone is tall) woman/rabit(?) with a blonde bob(if you call it that).
He closes his eyes and turns away from the woman that looks like a rabbit, with her ears and cotton tail, and tries to hide his tears. He doesn't want a stranger to see him cry; he's a real prideful seven-year old.
She turns around after all the bees are on the ground and sees the young human boy. A spark seems to ignite in her eyes as she picks him up by his armpits. He struggles thinking about how strong this woman must be to pick him up like this.
She pulls his body close to hers and snuggles him in her chest, "You're so cute!"
He pushes at her collar bone as he struggles to get away. He's not happy about the predicament. And he's definitely not happy about being called cute.
She ignores it before she starts to walk off to her own personal home, the place she decided they are going to share starting today. He eventually gives up knowing the resistance is futile. Even though it seems like I'm giving up because her arms and chest are comfy, I'm not! She's still kidnapping me! I... just want to sleep... I feel exhausted all of a sudden.
And so when he wakes up, he's in a big fluffy bed. He rubs his eyes before looking around. His eyes meet the glowing brown eyes of the female that saved him. Her mouth curves into a smile before she pulls him into another hug.
"You're so cute when you sleep!" she pushes his head in her chest and then lets him go. "What's your name, human child? How'd you get here?"
"My name is (Y/n)," he pouts before looking away. "What even are you?"
She looks taken aback before she folds her arms over her chest, "It's not what am I. It's who. My name is Carrot! And I'm a mink! It'll do you well to remember that, (Y/n)! Because from now on, you'll be staying with me!"
"I will not!"
"Will too!"
"You can't make my decisions for me!"
"Yes I can!"
"No, you can't!"
"I'll do what I want!"
"Then why can't I?!"
"Because I'm older than you! This is my house!"
"I didn't ask you to take me in!"
"Well too bad! I did!" Carrot stands up and walks over to the stove before pulling off a pot. "I made you some food, (Y/n)! I hope you enjoy it!"
"What if it's poisoned?"
"Why would I poison your food?! I just met you!" she folds her arms after she set the food on the table. "Just think of me as your older sister. If it makes you feel any better... I'll taste test your food so that you can trust it!"
He glares at her, but his stomach has another thing plan as it grumbles loudly. She chuckles before she grabs a spoon and dips it in the stew. She takes it out and puts the spoon in her mouth.
She hands it to him and he stares at her skeptically before he starts eating. She watches him as he holds out the bowl once he's done and looks away. The ends of her mouth curve up into a smile as happiness fills her heart.
She suddenly pulls him into her arms and snuggles him, much like you would with a stuffed bear, "You're so cute!!"
"Let go of me, you creepy woman!" he struggles to get out of her arms. "I don't appreciate this!"
"Aww... fine," she puts him back down, but pouts, "I've gotta go do some stuff anyway. Stay here, (Y/n), it's dangerous out there! I'll be right back anyway!"
The little boy scoffs and shakes his head, not even watching her leave the small cottage. Even though he wants to leave, he knows that he can't survive out there. He just has to hope that eventually someone else will come and save him.
It never happens. Day by day ticks away and he's still forced to stay with her... strangely... she's more bearable though... so that's a plus?
Currently, after a few months of him being there, they're on a walk, him trying to pull her arm in a different direction from where they normally walk. Hoping he'll run into someone new that can save him.
"(Y/n)! Quit trying to tear my arm off! You should know where we go by now," she reaches out her other arm and holds him in her arms. "You're just too cute!"
"But I want to get away! Go back home! Leave me alone! Take me back to the sea! I don't want to stay with you!" he seems to notice how her expression falls, and for some reason he feels bad. So without thinking, and turning a little red, he mumbles out, "Even if you are cute..."
Her ears perk up and her bright blue orbs light up as her cheeks flush just a tad, "What did you just call me?"
"Nothing! I said nothing!" he folds his arms and turns his body, jumping out of her hands and trying to run away.
"Aww," she quickly scoops him up and kisses his cheek. "You're too adorable!"
"Let go of me!! You annoying bunny woman that's named after a vegetable!" he attempts to squirm away from her, but fails again.
The next morning, he wakes up in her arms like a little plushie. He sighs as he crawls away and gets out of the hammock. He rubs his arms before looking back up at Carrot lying asleep. He thinks about how comfy and warm she is before jumping back up and snuggling into her embrace.
He sighs contently at the warmth that now spreads through his body. Maybe staying with her won't be so bad? She does love me... more than anyone ever has. She's like my family. She is the only family I've ever had... but... I'm not going to tell her that! That's too embarrassing!
He shoves his head into her chest as he feels his face flush, he also wraps his arms around her, as much as he could that is. She wakes up and smiles at the smaller figure before wrapping her arms around him as well.
"Next time on our walk..." he starts to say, his (h/c) covered head moving back to look at her.
"Hmm?" she leans down as she starts to laugh a little. "I didn't quite hear that."
"Quite ironic since you have those large ears," he pouts. "But I think you're laugh is cute."
Her face lights up and she kisses his face, "You're cute!"
"I've heard," he scrunched his face and looks away blushing. "But as I was saying... next time on our walk... I want you to carry me."
"I'd love to, (Y/n)!"~Family End~
