One Piece is the reason I have trust issues. Like... for real. (Spoilers ahead, and for the whole entire oneshot, tbh) Drake, being a double agent? It makes sense, but I didn't even think of it. -_-

She stands in front of a fireplace, everything set up and all she needs to do is light the fire. There's only one thing holding her back, but in truth, there are multiple reasons she still hasn't stuck the match. A door creaks open and there are voices, he's arrived.
In one quick motion, the match is lit and she throws it onto the pile of kindle in the fireplace. The sound of cracking flames fills the room, causing her to place the container for the matches on the mantle. She grabs a stack of letters out of a small wooden chest next to the box of matches and takes a step back.
There's a lump in her throat and her heart is beating fast before she unfolds the one on top. Tears well in her eyes, she had trusted him. She was willing to give everything up for him, but is he even who she thinks he is? She crumples the paper and throws it into the fire. Instead of feeling satisfied, it only made her feel emptier.
"(Y/n)?" his voice causes her to jump slightly, but she refuses to turn around. If she saw his face, she'd loose her edge, "What did you need to talk to me about?"
"Close the door, I don't want anyone to overhear what I'm going to tell you," she feels a tear run down her cheek, and she doesn't speak again until she hears the door click into place. "Were you ever going to tell me?"
"Tell you what?" he turns around to look at her, something isn't right, she's been avoiding him for a few weeks. "Are you feel-"
"Were you ever going to tell me that you're a marine?" she throws another letter in the flames, the paper catching fire immediately. "That you're actually here because you're keeping an eye on the Four Emperors? That you're only here because you're spying on my father?!"
She whips around to face him, tears flowing down her cheeks. His face falls, he knew that this would come up one day. And that's all she needed to turn back around and throw one more paper into the fireplace.
"I'm burning the letters you sent me from when you were on the sea and I was here," she casts her eyes to the floor. "You can stand over in the corner and watch if you get some kind of weird kick out of this."
He walks towards her, "(Y/n), listen to me. Ther-"
"Don't get any closer!" she turns around and takes a step away from him, the letters fall to the floor around her. It reminded him of the first time he saw her, snow falling all around. But he was quickly snapped back onto reality when she lets out a sigh of exasperation, "I don't know who you are anymore! You've lied to me about something very important, how can I be sure that everything else you've told me isn't a lie as well?!"
"It isn't. I wouldn't lie to you. I... (Y/n)..." he goes to reach out for her, but quickly drops his hand. "How'd you find out?"
"I overheard you talking to someone on the transponder... and then everything made sense," she turns away from him again. "I haven't told anyone else. This is just between me and you. I was selfish and I made you keep our relationship a secret from them, so I'll return the favor. But we're over. I'll never be able to trust you anymore. So just leave. Don't show your face around me again unless it's absolutely necessary. I won't be able to hold myself back."
He opens his mouth, "Don't speak! Just leave. Please. Just go... or quietly watch me burn this evidence."
His mind is reeling, it can't focus on one thing long enough to let it sink in. She's not telling people about him being a secret agent, but she's breaking up with him. Not only that, but she's burning the things that she told him made her happy on days where it seemed like there was no way it could turn around.
And she's crying. Crying. She's never cried in front of him before. It's not like he doesn't understand, she feels betrayed, "(Y/n)... can't I say just one thing? I feel like you're being rash..."
"Rash?" she bites her lip, trying to swallow a whimper before he could hear it. "I'm being rash? I've known about this for weeks. I've had weeks to think this through. Rash would've been going straight to my father! You're lucky I didn't do anything rash!"
"I didn't mean to imply that you didn't think about it... even though that is exactly what I did," he wants to reach out to her and pull her into his arms, but he knows that she'll just push him away. "I just... don't think you're looking at it from my point of view... I was scared."
"Scared of what?" she glares at him, flaring her nostrils. "Of me turning you in to Kaido?"
"I was afraid that I'd lose you," he runs his fingers through his hair, closing his eyes. His heart hurts, seeing her cry, "I was worried that you wouldn't want to be with me anymore knowing that I'm working for the-"
"You didn't have anything to worry about! You're the only person in this whole world that I ever trusted!" she casts her eyes away from him and hugs herself, lowering her voice, "My own father doesn't even love me. He left me alone after my mother died. He only accepted me after I proved myself to him... you knew this. If you'd told me, I'd choose you over him in a heartbeat. But now I don't even know if I can't trust anything you've told me..."
"I love you, (Y/n). There's never been a single person I've ever loved more. I'd lay down my life for yours, no matter what," he takes a few steps towards her, and pulls her into his arms. She immediately relaxes her muscles. "I'll wait forever to gain your trust back if I have to, and I'm sorry. I should've been more transparent. I should've told you sooner. I should've trusted you more. I should-"
"Just kiss me," she grabs his face and places their lips on top of each other.~Trust Issues End~
